A collection device has a chute supported below the calibration opening on pneumatic delivery lines through which seed can be dispensed during calibration of a seed meter below a seed tank of an agricultural air seeder implement. The chute has a top opening at a top side in alignment with the calibration opening thereabove so as to receive seed discharged through the calibration opening into the chute through the top opening and a bottom that slopes downwardly to one end locating a discharge opening through which collected seed is dispensed. The chute is supported on bag mounts of the implement from which a flexible calibration bag is otherwise suspended. A gate is operably associated with the discharge opening.

The method also includes receiving, at the controller, a volume of the material in the storage tank. The method also includes determining, via the controller, a density of the material in the storage tank using the weight of the material in the storage tank and the volume of the material in the storage tank. The method further includes determining, via the controller, a calibration of the metering system based on the density of the material in the storage tank.

Systems and methods for monitoring seed placement by a planting machine with a plurality of row units. An average seed placement metric is calculated for each individual row unit based on a data stream of sensor data corresponding to a defined calculation window. Each calculated metric is compared to a defined performance threshold and an error alert signal is transmitted based on the comparison. The calculation window can be adjusted by a user and the average seed placement metrics and the error alert signal are updated based on the adjusted calculation window. A graphical user interface also displays the calculated metrics for each individual row unit in a row data table and updates the row data table in response to receiving the user selection of the new calculation window.

Agitation and leveling system for particulate material

A particulate material agitation and leveling system includes a controller having a memory and a processor. The processor is configured to receive a sensor signal indicative of a measured weight distribution of a particulate material within a storage tank of an agricultural system, determine whether a determined variation between the measured weight distribution and a target weight distribution is greater than a threshold variation, and control an agitator to decrease the determined variation in response to determining that the determined variation is greater than the threshold variation.

A planting unit for a seeding machine comprising a seed supply, a seed meter and a seed delivery system to deposit the seed within a furrow. The seed meter is driven by an electronic control unit to achieve a pre-defined pattern of the seeds. The planting unit is adapted to skip dispensing of seeds at locations at which a tramline extends transversely to the travel direction. The following possibilities to achieve the tramline are described: (a) the seed meter comprises adjacent apertures for receiving the seeds and at least one of the apertures is closed, (b) a seed branch-off assembly is adapted to take a seed out of the seed delivery system, (c) the seed delivery system is slowed down to reduce the speed of the seed transport, (d) a seed transport device for moving a seed from the seed meter to the seed delivery system is disabled, or (e) a seed removal device is provided to provide the skip.

Pneumatic spreading machine and method for controlling or regulating the metering elements thereof by carrying out calibration tests

A method and pneumatic spreading machine control/regulate a metering element. A transfer chamber downstream of the metering element transfers metered material to a conveying line for spreading. A blower charges the conveying line with an air stream. Spreading elements are downstream of the conveying line. Calibration includes actuating metering elements, charged with a particular type and of material, over a predetermined test duration with a predetermined operating parameter. A mass of material metered during calibration is gravimetrically detected downstream of the metering element and upstream of the transfer chamber or in the transfer chamber, following which the material is transferred to the conveying line and dispensed. A functional relationship between the operating parameter of the dosing element and the actual mass flow of material for spreading, metered by means of the metering element, is calculated. The metering element is controlled/regulated to a setpoint depending on the functional relationship.

PRECISION AGRICULTURAL SEED DELIVERY SYSTEM

An agricultural machine includes a seeding system having a seed transport mechanism configured to transport a seed along a transport route, a seed sensor configured to sense presence of the seed at a first location along the transport route, and a motor configured to drive movement of the seed transport mechanism to transport the seed from the first location to a second location in which the seed is released from the seed transport mechanism. A processing system is configured to track a position of the seed along the transport route based on an indication of the sensed presence of the seed at the first location and detected movement of the seed transport mechanism, and generate a motor operating parameter based on the tracked position of the seed and a target parameter for releasing the seed. The motor of the seeding system is operated based on the motor operating parameter.
