A modular bracket for mounting a first filter and a second filter thereon is provided. The modular bracket includes a first mount and a second mount adapted to receive the first filter and the second filter thereon respectively. The modular bracket includes a first chamber and a second chamber provided in fluid communication with the first mount and the second mount respectively. Each of the first chamber and the second chamber is adapted to receive a filtered fluid from the first filter and the second filter respectively. The modular bracket also includes a central chamber, provided in fluid communication with the first chamber and the second chamber, adapted to receive the filtered fluid from the first chamber and the second chamber. The modular bracket further includes an outlet, provided in fluid communication with the central chamber, adapted to provide an egress of the filtered fluid from the central chamber.

COMBINED OIL FILTER AND RESTRICTOR ASSEMBLY

A combined oil filter and restrictor assembly is disclosed having an oil flow restrictor interposed between first and second filters so that, irrespective of the direction of oil flow through the restrictor, debris cannot enter a small diameter bore 32 in a body of the restrictor thereby reducing the likelihood of restrictor blockage. The combined oil filter and restrictor assembly includes a metal threaded member that enables the combined oil filter and restrictor assembly to be easily and quickly assembled to or removed from a component such as a cylinder head of a variable displacement engine. The combined oil filter and restrictor assembly can be used to provide a restricted flow of oil from oil supply passages to signal oil passages used for controlling the operation of deactivatable hydraulic lash adjusters so as to purge the signal oil passages when the deactivatable hydraulic lash adjusters are not deactivated.

A secondary filter system is arranged upstream relative to the distribution unit and downstream relative to the heat exchanger. The first filter system has at least one first filter with a first filtration range and the secondary filter system has at least one second filter with a second filtration range. The first filtration range differs from the second filtration range.
