Exhaust filter system for internal combustion engines and method of using same
A device that filters particulate matter from the exhaust stream of an engine includes a supporting structure with an elongate support, and a filter sleeve disposed within an exterior sleeve; a filter sleeve comprising a tubular shaft of filter material, the shaft having an open first end, and a closed second end; an exterior sleeve comprising a tubular shaft that defines an internal cavity that is sized and proportioned to receive the filter sleeve, the tubular shaft having an open first end, and a substantially closed second end, the substantially closed second end having a hole for filtered exhaust gases to pass through; and an attachment member that mounts the exterior sleeve to the supporting structure.
Pollutant Filtering Assembly
A pollutant filtering assembly for filtering pollutants from vehicle exhaust includes a tube that has a diameter which is sufficient to facilitate the tube to be inserted into an exhaust pipe of a vehicle. A sleeve extends around the tube to facilitate the exhaust pipe to extend between the tube and the sleeve. A handle is pivotally coupled to the tube for inserting the tube into the exhaust pipe. A filtering cartridge is insertable into the tube. The filtering cartridge has a plurality of filtering elements that is each comprised of a unique pollutant filtering material with respect to each other. Moreover, each of the filtering elements can filter pollutants from exhaust of the vehicle.
Method for replacing an exhaust aftertreatment component
The invention relates to a method for replacing an exhaust aftertreatment component of an exhaust aftertreatment system in a vehicle or vessel. The exhaust aftertreatment system is delimited by an outer casing and comprises a first sleeve, which extends in an axial direction and contains a first exhaust aftertreatment component mounted directly in the first sleeve. The method comprises the steps of: removing the first exhaust aftertreatment component from the first sleeve, the first sleeve thereby remaining intact within the outer casing, providing a second exhaust aftertreatment component being mounted in a second sleeve, the second sleeve being configured to fit within the first sleeve, and mounting the second sleeve with the second exhaust aftertreatment component in the first sleeve by inserting the second sleeve into the first sleeve in the axial direction thereof.
Exhaust aftertreatment unit for an exhaust system of an internal combustion engine
The invention relates to a leakage treatment member (50) and an exhaust aftertreatment unit (40) configured to be sealingly arranged in a fluid passage (30) of an exhaust aftertreatment system for treating exhaust from an internal combustion engine, said exhaust aftertreatment unit (40) comprising an exhaust aftertreatment element (42) confined by an outer wall (44) of said exhaust aftertreatment unit, said leakage treatment member being configured to be arranged between:—an inner perimeter (32) of the fluid passage of the exhaust aftertreatment system, and—the outer wall of the exhaust aftertreatment unit, the leakage treatment member comprising an exhaust aftertreatment component for aftertreatment of any leakage of exhaust gases past said aftertreatment unit in said fluid passage.
Exhaust gas treatment assembly for an exhaust gas system of an internal combustion engine
An exhaust gas treatment assembly for an exhaust gas system of an internal combustion engine includes a housing defining a longitudinal axis. A first exhaust gas treatment unit is inserted in the housing and has a first casing and at least one first exhaust gas treatment unit carried in the first casing. A second exhaust gas treatment unit is inserted in the housing and has a second casing and at least one second exhaust gas treatment unit carried therein. A locking arrangement is for locking a first exhaust gas treatment unit in the housing at least against movement in the direction of the longitudinal axis in a locked state, wherein, when the first exhaust gas treatment unit and the second exhaust gas treatment unit are inserted in the housing, the locking arrangement is blocked in the locked state by the second exhaust gas treatment unit.
Work vehicle
An attachment device includes a support table member and a coupling mechanism. The coupling mechanism includes a coupling bolt and an abutment member having a nut portion. In the abutment member, there is formed a locking protrusion protruding to the side where an auxiliary machine fixing portion is present. In the auxiliary machine fixing portion, there is formed an insertion hole for the coupling bolt and an anti-rotation hole in which the locking protrusion can be fitted.
Particulate filter and canning structure
A particulate filter, including: a pillar-shaped honeycomb structure portion having a plurality of first cells extending from a first end face to a second end face, the first end face being open and the second end face being plugged, and a plurality of second cells extending from the first end face to the second end face, the first end face being plugged and the second end face being open, in which the first cells and the second cells are alternately arranged adjacent to each other with porous partition walls interposed therebetween; and a low thermal conductive layer covering a part or the whole of an outer peripheral side surface of the pillar-shaped honeycomb structure portion, the thermal conductivity in a thickness direction of the low thermal conductive layer being 0.6 W/(m.Math.K) or less.
Enhanced Soot Oxidation on Particulate Filter Using Ceria-Based Catalyst and Zone Coating Strategy
An improved SCRoF (selective catalytic reduction on filter) device for treating exhaust from an internal combustion engine. The filter has numerous entry and exit channels. Exhaust enters the entry channels and flows through side walls into the exit channels. Relative to the exhaust flow path, these side walls are coated on the downstream side with a ceria-based catalyst and on the upstream side with a Cu-zeolite catalyst. This allows the filter to optimally achieve both particulate matter oxidation and NOx reduction, respectively.
