SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR LOW CO EMISSION ENGINE
In one aspect, a system is provided and includes an engine including an exhaust valve, an exhaust manifold downstream of the exhaust valve and a muffler downstream of the exhaust manifold. The system also includes a catalyst positioned downstream of the exhaust valve.

System and method for dosing a selective catalytic reduction catalyst
Methods and systems for improving NOx conversion efficiency of a selective catalytic reduction catalyst are described. In one example, an amount of NH.sub.3 stored in a SCR is adjusted after stopping an engine so that a desired amount of NH.sub.3 may be stored within the SCR when the engine is restarted.
Plant and air pollution control method
A plant according to an embodiment includes a gas turbine; a heat recovery unit that includes a primary heat recovery steam generator in which a primary heat exchanging unit generates primary steam by exchanging heat that is the thermal energy of the flue gas from the gas turbine, and a secondary heat recovery steam generator that is installed independently from the primary heat exchanging unit, and in which a secondary heat exchanging unit generates secondary steam by exchanging heat that is the thermal energy of the flue gas partly having exchanged heat in the primary heat exchanging unit included in the primary heat recovery steam generator; a primary steam turbine; a CO.sub.2 recovery unit; and a first reboiler heat supply line.

CONTROLLER AND CONTROL METHOD FOR HYBRID VEHICLE
A controller for a hybrid vehicle controls an electric motor such that a motor torque is input to a crankshaft in order to compensate for a decrease in an engine torque when a cylinder deactivation control is executed, the decrease resulting from suspension of combustion in one or some of cylinders. The controller calculates an engine torque calculated value using an engine rotation speed, a motor rotation speed, and the motor torque. The controller diagnoses that the cylinder deactivation control is functioning normally when the engine torque calculated value is less than a torque determination value and diagnose that the cylinder deactivation control is not functioning normally when the engine torque calculated value is not less than the torque determination value during the execution of the cylinder deactivation control.

Construction Machine
A filter (30) traps particulate matter in an exhaust gas. A filter inlet side pressure sensor (34) is provided in an inlet side of the filter (30). An EGR valve inlet side pressure sensor (22) is provided in an inlet side of an EGR valve (20). A regeneration controller (38C) determines whether or not the filter inlet side pressure sensor (34) is in failure based upon a difference between a pressure value detected by the filter inlet side pressure sensor (34) and a pressure value detected by the EGR valve inlet side pressure sensor (22). When the filter inlet side pressure sensor (34) is in failure, the regeneration controller (38C) performs control of regeneration treatment using a differential pressure calculated based upon a pressure value detected by the EGR valve inlet side pressure sensor (22) and a pressure value detected by the filter outlet side pressure sensor (35).
