HYBRID INTERCOOLER SYSTEM CAPABLE OF CONTROLLING OIL TEMPERATURE AND METHOD OF CONTROLLING THE SAME
A hybrid intercooler system is provided to adjust an oil temperature. The system includes an air cooling unit that exchanges heat with external air passing through outer surfaces of a plurality of compressed intake air channels and cools compressed intake air passing through interiors of the compressed intake air channels. A water cooling unit exchanges heat between engine cooling water enclosing the outer surfaces of the compressed intake air channels and the compressed intake air passing through the interiors of the compressed intake air channels and cools the compressed intake air. Additionally, an oil temperature controller exchanges heat between oil and the engine cooling water that is heated by the heat exchange performed by the water cooling unit and adjusts the temperature of the oil.
Refrigeration cycle intercooler with dual coil evaporator
Refrigeration cycle intercooler with dual coil evaporator is a component in a refrigeration cycle that is installed in a vehicle with an internal combustion engine or motor. The refrigeration cycle operates by continuously cycling a refrigerant through a closed loop where refrigerant passes through an inner coil evaporator and an outer coil evaporator where the refrigerant changes from liquid to gas, thereby providing a cooling effect. During operation, fresh air or outside air continuously passes by the inner coil evaporator and the outer coil evaporator and then continues into the internal combustion engine or motor air intake. The inner coil evaporator and the outer coil evaporator function to cool and dry the intake air for the internal combustion engine or motor. The inner coil evaporator and an outer coil evaporator are specially designed to provide substantially more cooling and drying than any other intercooler design.
COOLING MODULE
A cooling module has a heat generating body, a heat exchanger made of metal, and an insulating plate. The heat generating body has a heat dissipating surface. The heat exchanger has cooling surface facing the heat dissipating surface. The insulating plate has a first surface and a second surface. The insulating plate is interposed between the heat dissipating surface and the cooling surface on a condition that the insulating plate faces the heat dissipating surface and that the second surface faces the cooling surface. The insulating plate and the cooling surface are joined to be one body by a joining material. The heat dissipating surface and the insulating plate are in close contact with each other through an elastic member. The heat dissipating surface and the cooling surface are thermally connected to each other through the joining material, the insulating plate, and the elastic member.
Indirect-Type Air Cooler
The invention relates to an indirect-type air cooler by way of which compressed charge air for an internal-combustion engine is cooled by means of a liquid, wherein the air cooler is constructed from stacked pairs of plates having fins which are disposed therebetween, and the brazed stack is disposed in a housing into which the charge air flows, flows through the fins and exits the housing again. The charge air exchanges heat with the liquid which flows in the plate pairs and which is introducible into the plate pairs via at least one inlet and via inlet-side plate openings which are flush in the stack and is dischargeable via at least one outlet by means of flush outlet-side plate openings. In order to further improve the performance potential of the air cooler, at least one venting element which extends to the exterior through an opening of the housing is connected to a liquid space within the stack.
HEAT EXCHANGER
In cooling/heating cycles of a heat exchanger, to prevent cracks that tend to occur in a brazed portion between an end portion of a horizontal cross-section of a tube and a header plate. An end portion cover body is provided for an end portion of a tank main body or a header to cover hereby an end portion in a longer side direction of an opening end portion of a flat tube.
CHARGE AIR COOLER WITH MULTI-PIECE PLASTIC HOUSING
A gas/liquid heat exchanger for cooling a hot gas has a plastic housing at least partly surrounding a metal core. The housing has separately formed inlet and outlet segments which may be formed from plastic materials having different heat resistance, and which are joined together along a sealed joint. One or both of the inlet and outlet segments are provided with bypass blocking element to at least partially blocks any gaps between the irregularly shaped sides of the core and the sides of the housing. Where the sides of the core include indentations, the bypass blocking elements may comprise a comb structure having fingers extending into the indentations. The housing is constructed to permit the core to be slidingly received into one or both of the inlet segment and the outlet segment of the housing.
ENGINE HAVING INTEGRATED HEAT EXCHANGER
An engine having an integrated heat exchanger includes a cylinder head defining combustion chambers; an intercooler embedded at an intake side in the cylinder head and cooling intake gas by using a coolant; an EGR cooler embedded in the cylinder head and cooling exhaust gas, which is discharged from an exhaust side of the combustion chambers and recirculates to the intake side of the combustion chambers through an EGR passageway formed in the cylinder head; and an EGR distribution tube formed at an upper side in the cylinder head, supplied with the exhaust gas passing through the EGR cooler, and having distribution holes through which the exhaust gas is distributed into intake ports connected with the combustion chambers.
Active airpath bypass system
Methods and systems are provided for regulating airflow through a charge air cooler integrated in an intake assembly. In one example, an engine intake assembly comprises a plenum having an integrated charge air cooler (CAC), a first header seal positioned around a circumference of a first CAC header, and a first rotatably movable seal positioned in a bypass passage of the plenum. The first movable seal interfaces via sliding contact with the first header seal and adjusting a position of the first movable seal may vary the amount of airflow through the bypass passage.
HEAT EXCHANGER WITH SECUREMENT OF THE FASTENING AT THE HEADER CORNER
A heat exchanger with a heat-exchange core in which a first fluid and a second fluid circulate, at least one header tank configured to duct the second fluid from or to the heat-exchange core. The header tank has at least a shoulder oriented toward the outside of said header tank, and at least one header tank corner. At least one fastening member for fastening the header tank is positioned at least partly at the periphery of the heat-exchange core and includes at least one peripheral groove delimited by a base wall and a lateral wall and in which the shoulder of the header tank is at least partially housed. Part of the corner portion faces an upper face of the shoulder opposite to the groove of the fastening member and at a non-zero distance from this upper face so that a space is left between the corner portion and the upper face of the shoulder.
RADIATOR-INTERCOOLER INTEGRATED MODULE AND VEHICLE INCLUDING THE SAME
A radiator-intercooler integrated module and a vehicle including the same are provided. The radiator-intercooler integrated module includes a low-temperature radiator and a water cooled intercooler of the vehicle which are integrated into a single body.
