COMPRESSOR HOUSING
The object is to provide a compressor housing which can suppress blowback of oil. A compressor housing (1) is used in a compressor which uses a compressor impeller (5) provided in an intake air flow path more to a downstream side than a blow-by gas inlet. The compressor housing (1) includes an impeller chamber (2), and an intake air duct (6) which extends along an axis line (C). The duct (6) includes an inner-wall face (61). A step part (67) that is arc shaped along a circumferential direction of the impeller (5) and has a distance along the radial direction of the impeller (5) from the axis line (C) that is farther at a downstream side than at an upstream side thereof is formed in the inner-wall face (61) more to an upstream side along the axis line (C) than the intake air inlet (22).
Supercharged internal combustion engine
A supercharged internal combustion engine is drivably connected to a variable displacement supercharger operable to continuously supply varying amounts of an air mass to the engine in response to the varying power requirements of the engine. The variable displacement capability eliminates blowdown losses of fixed displacement superchargers and substantially reduces the need for throttling of the intake air. The device also presents an air-motoring mode that can recover a portion of the engine throttling losses as positive power returned to the engine crankshaft when the engine intake manifold is below atmospheric pressure.
Supercharged internal combustion engine
A supercharged internal combustion engine is drivably connected to a variable displacement supercharger operable to continuously supply varying amounts of an air mass to the engine in response to the varying power requirements of the engine. The shuttle has rollers that ride on rails that allow the shuttle to move to open and close the air mass bypass opening in communication with a casing that directs a mass of atmospheric air and a bypass mass of air interfused with the mass of atmospheric air to an air mass inlet of the supercharger.

Induction assembly and system for a supercharged internal combustion engine, and method for assembly for the same
An induction system for a supercharged internal V-type combustion engine includes a monolithic continuous unitary casting housing a supercharger with a rotor and gear assembly operative to discharge pressurized air to a common bounding receiving plenum, through a first slidably-removable intercooler providing a first cooling, and then to a pair of second side intercoolers providing a second cooling within the bounded plenum and in fluid communication therewith. First and second intercoolers are secured within the monolithic housing. The monolithic housing provides a robust and stable housing of light weight and allows an exterior air cooling as well. Side walls of the supercharger are separate from and are spaced from air intake runners of a cylinder block. Air in the plenum is additionally cooled by convective surface cooling while being guided in an appropriate direction. The intercoolers are plumbed in parallel allowing for enhanced temperature management of the air flow in combination with the convective cooling. The monolithic housing includes rib elements for sound attenuation and strength while minimizing weight. This arrangement allows for enhanced cooling, and simplifies manufacture and service.
