SUPERCHARGING DEVICE FOR ENGINE
A supercharging device for an engine is provided, which includes a supercharger provided to an intake passage of the engine, an actuator configured to drive the supercharger, and a controller including a processor configured to control the actuator to drive the supercharger when an operating state of the engine is in a given supercharging range, and to stop the supercharger when the operating state is in a non-supercharging range. The controller causes the actuator to forcibly drive the supercharger in the non-supercharging range when a temperature of the supercharger is lower than a preset temperature, and prohibits the forcible drive of the supercharger when a rotation speed of the supercharger during the forcible drive of the supercharger is lower than a preset rotation speed.
The controller estimates an amount of condensate accumulated in an oil pan, and the controller causes the actuator to forcibly drive the supercharger when the estimated amount of condensate is more than a preset amount, even if the operating state is in the non-supercharging range.
Engine control device
An engine control device controls an engine including a turbo-supercharger, a waste gate valve, an air-bypass valve, and a high-pressure fuel system. The engine control device includes: an air-bypass valve control unit and an abnormality detection unit. The air-bypass valve control unit controls the air-bypass valve. The abnormality detection unit detects an abnormality in the high-pressure fuel system. The air-bypass valve control unit increases an opening degree of the air-bypass valve in accordance with detection of the abnormality by the abnormality detection unit.
Air-bypass valve control device
An air-bypass valve control device is disposed in an engine. The engine includes an intake passage, a compressor, a throttle valve, an air-bypass passage and the air-bypass valve. The air-bypass valve control device includes an intake air amount detector, a controller. The intake air amount detector detects an intake air amount of the engine. The controller configured to temporarily bring the air-bypass valve into an opened state in the case where the intake air amount of the engine immediately before a decrease in an opening degree of the throttle valve is equal to or larger than a predetermined value when the opening degree of the throttle valve decreases at a predetermined speed or higher.
Method and apparatus for controlling a two-stage air charging system with mixed EGR
A two-stage air charging system for an internal combustion engine with mixed exhaust gas recirculation includes a high pressure exhaust gas recirculation loop, a low pressure exhaust gas recirculation loop, an air throttle system, a turbo air charging system, and an electric air charging system. A method to control the system includes monitoring desired operating target commands and operating parameters. Feedback control signals are determined based upon the monitored desired operating target commands and the monitored operating parameters. The two-stage air charging system is controlled based on system control commands for each of the high pressure exhaust gas recirculation loop, the low pressure exhaust gas recirculation loop, the air throttle system, the turbo air charging system and the electric air charging system.
COMPRESSOR BYPASS DURING START-UP
An internal combustion engine comprising at least one turbo charger, which comprises a compressor, at least one bypass valve, through which the compressor can be bypassed by at least a partial stream of air or an air-fuel mixture, and a control unit is provided. The control unit is configured to open or closed loop control the bypass valve. As such, the control unit is configured to at least partially open the at least one bypass valve and keep the at least one bypass valve open during a start of the internal combustion engine. The control unit is also configured to keep the at least one bypass valve open until an engine parameter of the internal combustion engine satisfies a predetermined startup criterion.
Engine intake system control device and control method thereof
An engine intake system control device configured to control an intake system of an engine, having a map function that inputs at least a fuel injection pressure of the engine, a fresh air flow, and a compressor outlet temperature of a supercharger, and outputs a control gain; and a control unit that inputs the control gain and a deviation between a controlled variable of the intake system of the engine and a target value thereof, and controls a manipulated variable of the intake system of the engine.
System and Method for Controlling Compressor Surge
An engine system is disclosed that includes an engine, a compound boosting system, and a variable valve. The compound boosting system includes first and second boosters, and is configured and dimensioned to compress air flowing into the engine to increase power and performance The first booster includes a first compressor positioned in a flow path of incoming air, a turbine, and a shaft interconnecting the compressor and the turbine. The second booster is electric and includes a second compressor. The valve is configured, dimensioned, and positioned such that in the open positions, when the second booster is running, air can be recirculated from adjacent an outlet of the second compressor to the inlet of the second compressor to mitigate surge in the second booster.
BOOST PRESSURE CONTROL
An internal combustion engine is provided having at least one turbocharger having a compressor and an exhaust gas turbine, at least two actuating members for controlling a boost pressure by the compressor, a measuring device for measuring at least one measurement signal, and a control device adapted to actuate the actuating members by varying a degree of opening of the actuating members. The control device of the internal combustion engine is configured to calculate a total degree of opening of the actuating members necessary to achieve a desired boost pressure provided by the compressor. This is in dependence on the at least one measurement signal. The control device is also configured to determine the total degree of opening split between each of the at least two actuating members, and to control each of the actuating members according to its individual degree of opening to reach the desired boost pressure.
