Control device for internal combustion engine
In a control device for an engine, the engine includes combustion chambers, ports connected to the combustion chambers, and valves that open and close areas between the combustion chambers and the ports. The control device includes an electronic control unit that is configured to execute an anti-freezing operation of performing control to fully close the valves or make the valves be in a state of being opened with a lift amount of 1 mm or more, in a case where temperatures around the valves are lowered to a predetermined temperature range after the engine is stopped, or in a case where an outside air temperature when the engine is stopped is equal to or lower than a predetermined temperature. The predetermined temperature range is a temperature range in which an upper limit value is lower than 10 C., and the predetermined temperature is lower than 5 C.
Vehicle control apparatus
A vehicle control apparatus is mounted on a vehicle including an emergency stop function to detect an abnormal state of a driver and automatically stop the vehicle. The vehicle control apparatus provides control at a time of stopping the vehicle and includes process execution sections and a process stop section. The process execution sections perform predetermined emergency processes in response to the emergency stop function stopping the vehicle; the emergency processes control instruments mounted on the vehicle and use a battery of the vehicle as a driving power source. The process stop section stepwise stops at least part of the emergency processes performed by the process execution sections based on a predetermined stop sequence.
Systems and methods for controlling an engine and hazard lights based on start/stop switch actuation
A torque request module is configured to, while a vehicle speed is greater than a predetermined speed, decrease a torque request in response to a first signal from a start/stop switch being in a first state continuously for greater than a first predetermined period and less than a second predetermined period. A control module is configured to, as the torque request decreases, decrease torque output of at least one of an engine and an electric motor. A light control module is configured to: selectively turn exterior hazard lights on and off in response to a second signal from a hazard light switch being in a first state; and selectively turn the exterior hazard lights on and off in response to the first signal from the start/stop switch being in the first state continuously for greater than the first predetermined period.
Systems and methods for diagnosing a vehicle engine intake manifold and exhaust system
Methods and systems are provided for indicating a presence or absence of a source of degradation stemming from one of an intake manifold, exhaust system, or engine of an engine system. In one example, a method comprises rotating the engine unfueled and indicating the source of degradation based on both an intake air flow and an exhaust flow, as compared to baseline intake air flow and baseline exhaust flow. In this way, a source of degradation may be pinpointed, which may increase a lifetime of a vehicle engine system, reduce undesired emissions, and which may increase customer satisfaction resulting from shorter time spent on diagnosing such a source of degradation.
METHOD FOR CONTROLLING AN EMERGENCY UNIT AND VALVE CONTROL DEVICE
A method for controlling an emergency unit of an internal combustion engine including the following steps: inputting a threshold value for an overspeed of the engine; detecting a second rotational speed of the engine with a second rotational speed sensor; checking the plausibility of the second rotational speed. The plausibility checking includes the following steps: inputting a first rotational speed detected by a first rotational speed sensor of an engine control unit; calculating a difference between the second rotational speed and the first rotational speed; comparing the difference with a recorded threshold value for the difference; in the event that the difference is smaller than the threshold value for the difference, emitting a plausibility signal. After receipt of the plausibility signal, the method includes inputting the second rotational speed; and using the second rotational speed for an activation process of the emergency unit according to the overspeed.
METHOD FOR ESTIMATING A PHYSICAL STOPPAGE OF A MOTOR VEHICLE INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE
Disclosed is a method for estimating a physical stoppage of an engine of a motor vehicle, subject to bounce-back, a target equipped with teeth being borne by the crankshaft and successive passes of the teeth past a sensor being detected, a first time count incrementing since a last detection of the passing of a tooth and being associated with a first time threshold with the first count being reset to zero when the time between passes of two successive teeth is below the first threshold. A second count associated with a second time threshold is performed, with this count being suspended when and for as long as a time between the passes of two successive teeth is below the second threshold, the engine being estimated to have stopped as soon as the counts have respectively reached the first and second thresholds.
CONTROL DEVICE FOR INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE
A control device for an internal combustion engine is configured to: execute a first decompression operating processing such that a decompression operating state is selected in a first engine speed region that passes in the course of engine stop; execute a decompression stop processing such that a switching from the decompression operating state to a decompression stop state is performed in the course of the engine stop after passage of the first engine speed region; when a temperature correlation value is greater than or equal to a threshold value upon an engine start-up request, execute a second decompression operating processing such that the decompression operating state is selected in a second engine speed region that passes in the course of engine start-up before the start of fuel injection. When the temperature correlation value is smaller than the threshold value, the second decompression operating processing is not executed.
CONTROL APPARATUS FOR HYBRID VEHICLE
A fuel supply apparatus is operated so as to increase an upon-stopping fuel pressure in accordance with an increase in an upon-stopping vehicle speed, the upon-stopping fuel pressure being a fuel pressure in a state in which an internal combustion engine is intermittently stopped, the upon-stopping vehicle speed being a vehicle speed upon intermittently stopping the internal combustion engine.
FLUID SUPPLY SYSTEM HAVING SHUTOFF VALVE WITH STABILIZED ELECTRICAL VALVE ACTUATOR
A fluid supply system for a machine such as an internal combustion engine includes a shutoff valve having an electrical actuator that includes a solenoid subassembly, and a stabilizer for the electrical valve actuator. The stabilizer includes a fitting structured to couple the shutoff valve to adjacent hardware in the fluid supply system, and a strongarm extending between the fitting and the solenoid assembly and clamped to the solenoid subassembly. A vibration-damping reinforced grommet may be clamped between the solenoid subassembly and the clamp.
ELECTRONIC CONTROL DEVICE
An electronic control device includes a first pull-up resistor connected between a power supply and a switch, a series circuit of a transistor and a second pull-up resistor with a resistance value lower than that of the first pull-up resistor, connected in parallel with the first pull-up resistor, and a microcomputer, an output port of which is connected to a base terminal of the transistor and which controls a turning on and off of the transistor using a signal output from the output port. A connection point of the switch, the first pull-up resistor, and the second pull-up resistor is connected to a first analog measurement port of the microcomputer, a power supply is connected to a second analog measurement port of the microcomputer, and current flowing into the switch is detected using a value of voltage input into the first analog measurement port.
