Low-pressure EGR system with turbo bypass

The disclosure relates to an exhaust gas conduction system for a gasoline engine, comprising an exhaust gas line which can be connected to an exhaust manifold of the gasoline engine, an intake line which can be connected to an intake manifold of the gasoline engine, a charge air compressor which is arranged in the intake line, and a turbine which is arranged in the exhaust gas line. The exhaust gas line has at least one bypass line with a bypass throttle valve, said line branching off from the exhaust gas line upstream of the turbine and branching back into the exhaust gas line at an opening downstream of the turbine. At least one exhaust gas recirculation line with an EGR throttle valve is provided, said line opening into the intake line, wherein the exhaust gas recirculation line branches off from the bypass line at a branch, and the bypass throttle valve is arranged upstream of the branch of the exhaust gas recirculation line. At least one particle filter is arranged in the bypass line downstream of the branch of the exhaust gas recirculation line, and an exhaust gas valve is provided in the exhaust gas line upstream of the opening of the bypass line.

Engine cooling system

An engine cooling system may include a main intake line for supplying external air to an intake manifold attached to an engine including a cylinder block and a cylinder head, a supplementary intake line branched from one side of the main intake line and joined to the other side of the main intake line, an intake route control valve in the main intake line, a main exhaust line for flowing exhaust gas from an exhaust manifold, an exhaust route control valve in the main exhaust line, a turbocharger, an intercooler mounted to the supplementary intake line on a downstream side of the turbocharger, an EGR cooler branched from the exhaust manifold for recirculating the exhaust gas and provided in an EGR line connected to the main intake line; and a cooling line for flowing a coolant supplied from a water pump to cool the EGR cooler, the exhaust route control valve and/or the turbine housing of the turbocharger.

Engine cooling system

Methods and systems are provided for flowing exhaust gas in an exhaust system of an engine. In one example, a method may include flowing a first portion of exhaust gas to a turbine, from the turbine to at least one aftertreatment device, then from the at least one aftertreatment device to atmosphere, and flowing a second portion of exhaust gas to the at least one aftertreatment device, bypassing the turbine, then from the aftertreatment device to atmosphere, during a second condition. The method may also include, during a second condition, flowing a third portion of exhaust gas to the at least one aftertreatment device, from the at least one aftertreatment device to the turbine, and then from the turbine to atmosphere, and flowing a fourth portion of exhaust gas to the at least one aftertreatment device, and then from the at least one aftertreatment device to atmosphere, bypassing the turbine.

Methods and systems are provided for flowing exhaust gas in an exhaust system of an engine. Controlling apparatus for engine

A first recirculation system includes a first adjuster to adjust the exhaust-gas flow rate in a first path connecting an upstream position of a turbine of a VG turbocharger to a downstream position of a compressor. A second recirculation system includes a second adjuster to adjust the exhaust-gas flow rate in a second path connecting a downstream position of the turbine to an upstream position of the compressor. A recirculation controller switches between a single use activating the first or second recirculation system and a combination use activating both systems by controlling the adjusters. A pressure controller executes feedback control of an intake-system pressure through adjusting the opening of vanes, and executes feedforward control without the feedback control during a predetermined period from the switching from the single use to the combination use.
