REEL ASSEMBLY OF AN AGRICULTURAL HEADER
20220124981 · 2022-04-28 ·

A reel assembly of an agricultural header includes an arm configured to rotatably couple to a frame of the agricultural header, in which the arm has a substantially straight portion. The reel assembly also includes a carriage slidably coupled to the arm and configured to move along the substantially straight portion of the arm, in which the carriage is configured to support a reel of the reel assembly. In addition, the reel assembly includes a cam coupled to the carriage and having a cam surface, and a follower configured to couple to the frame and to engage the cam surface of the cam. The cam surface is configured to control rotation of the arm relative to the frame in response to movement of the carriage along the substantially straight portion of the arm.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR PREDICTIVE REEL CONTROL

A predictive map is obtained by an agricultural system. The predictive map maps characteristic values at different geographic locations in a field. A geographic position sensor detects a geographic location of an agricultural harvester at the field. A control system generates a control signal to control a reel subsystem of the agricultural harvester based on the geographic location of the agricultural harvester and the predictive map.

Crop harvesting header with cam adjustment component responsive to reel movement
11758849 · 2023-09-19 · ·

A crop harvesting header includes a reel for controlling movement of the crop in the area over the cutter bar to the transport draper carried on two reel mounting arms for upward and downward movement and for moving the reel forwardly and rearwardly along the respective reel mounting arm. The reel has a plurality of reel bats with reel fingers projecting generally radially outwardly from the reel axis where the reel bats are pivotal to vary the angle of the finger driven by a cam track member. An adjustment component defined by a follower in a guide track along one of the arms is responsive to movement of the reel along the arm which causes the cam track member to be angularly advanced and retarded about the reel axis to different adjustment angles in dependence upon the position of the reel along the mounting arms.

DRAPER HEADER WITH LEAN BAR ASSEMBLY
20230292662 · 2023-09-21 ·

A draper header for harvesting agricultural crops includes at least one lean bar assembly for engaging the crops to be harvested prior to a first and a second crop pick-up reel. The first crop pick-up reel is rotatably coupled between an outboard and a center reel support arm of the draper header, and the second crop pick-up reel is rotatably coupled between the center and an outboard reel support arm of the draper header. The first and second crop pick-up reels are selectively moveable in a fore and an aft direction along the inboard, outboard, and center reel support arms for engaging the crops to be harvested. The lean bar assemblies are secured to each of the first and second crop pick-up reels at a predetermined position relative thereto and maintain the predetermined position during selective movement of the first and second crop pick-up reels in the fore and aft directions.

Follower assembly of a cam assembly for a harvester reel
11712004 · 2023-08-01 · ·

A follower assembly of a cam assembly for a harvester reel including a baffle, a compressible member adjacent the baffle, and a roller spacer adjacent the compressible member. The follower assembly further includes a tubular cam follower housing the roller spacer, and a fastener extending through the tubular cam follower, the roller spacer, the compressible member and the baffle. The resultant follower assembly provides a construction which minimizes peening of the baffle, whereby the fastener maintains its clamp load such that the cam followers maintain engagement with the cam track and the potential for breakage of the fastener is minimized.

HEADLAND GRAIN CAPTURE SEQUENCE FOR AGRICULTURAL VEHICLE HEADER
20230380347 · 2023-11-30 · ·

A system and method for capturing grain on a header of an agricultural vehicle either before, during or after raising the header in a headland sequence. The header includes (i) a cutter bar, (ii) either an auger or belt positioned adjacent the cutter bar, (iii) a reel positioned at an elevation above the cutter bar, and (iv) a device that is configured to adjust a gap between the reel and the cutter bar. During a harvest mode, the gap is set to a first distance, and, during the headland sequence, the gap is set to a second distance that is less than the first distance. At the second distance, tines on the reel are positioned to sweep crop off the cutter bar toward either the belt or the auger.

Harvesting machine with crop detection and harvesting width detection

A harvesting machine includes a harvesting part provided forward of a machine body, and harvests crops in a farm field; and a plurality of crop sensors provided in the harvesting part at intervals in a left-right direction, and detect the presence of crops upon coming into contact with the crops. The harvesting machine may also include a harvesting width detector that detects a harvesting width corresponding to crops harvested through harvesting work that has actually been performed, included in a workable width within which harvesting work can be performed by the harvesting part; and a travel transmission unit that changes the travel speed of the machine body. The harvesting machine may also include a speed controller that shifts the travel transmission unit to a lower speed as the harvesting width increases, and shifts the travel transmission unit to a higher speed as the harvesting width decreases.
