METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR AN EXHAUST GAS RECIRCULATION COOLER

Methods and systems are provided for an EGR cooler having first and second coolant jackets fluidly coupled to first and second coolant systems, respectively. In one example, the first and second coolant jackets are hermetically sealed from one another. Furthermore, the second coolant jacket protrudes into a portion of an exhaust gas passage directly downstream of an exhaust aftertreatment device.

The condensed water treatment device may further include a computer. The computer by executing a computer program may function as a storage-water-quantity decrease controlling device and a storage-water-quantity increase controlling device.

ENGINE

An engine includes an exhaust manifold, an intake manifold, and an EGR device configured to supply EGR gas from the exhaust manifold to the intake manifold. An EGR cooler is provided at a side of the exhaust manifold, and a longitudinal direction of the EGR cooler is in an up-down direction of the engine in a used state.

METHOD AND SYSTEMS FOR AN EGR COOLER INCLUDING COOLING TUBES WITH A COMPLIANT REGION

Various methods and systems are provided for an exhaust gas recirculation cooler including a plurality of cooling tubes. In one example, an exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) cooler includes a plurality of cooling tubes positioned within a housing of the EGR cooler, each cooling tube of the plurality of cooling tubes extending between and directly coupled to tube sheets of the EGR cooler at ends of each cooling tube, where at least one end of one or more cooling tubes of a first portion of the plurality of cooling tubes, inward of a tube sheet coupled to the at least one end, includes a compliant region, where the first portion is positioned proximate to an exhaust inlet of the EGR cooler.

METHOD AND SYSTEMS FOR AN EGR COOLER INCLUDING COOLING TUBES WITH A COMPLIANT REGION

Various methods and systems are provided for an exhaust gas recirculation cooler including a plurality of cooling tubes. In one example, an exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) cooler includes a plurality of cooling tubes positioned within a housing of the EGR cooler, each cooling tube of the plurality of cooling tubes extending between and directly coupled to tube sheets of the EGR cooler at ends of each cooling tube, where at least one end of one or more cooling tubes of a first portion of the plurality of cooling tubes, inward of a tube sheet coupled to the at least one end, includes a compliant region, where the first portion is positioned proximate to an exhaust inlet of the EGR cooler.

Heat exchanger

A heat exchanger includes a housing with an inlet port, an outlet port, an interior facing surface defining a coolant channel, a first opening surrounded by an exterior facing surface, and a second opening defined by a first inner diameter. A tube assembly defines a plurality of exhaust gas flow channels and a plurality of coolant cross channels within the housing. A first diffuser directs a first fluid into the tube assembly and is joined to a first header plate, which separates the first fluid from a second fluid within the coolant channel. A second diffuser directs the first fluid out of the tube assembly. The second diffuser is located within the second opening and sealed to the second opening by seals around the second diffuser.

Exhaust gas recirculation cooler

An exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) cooler is provided and includes a plurality of tubes that are spaced apart from each other and a cavity that is disposed on an engine to receive the plurality of tubes. A coolant guide guides a coolant to the plurality of tubes and a cover then closes the cavity. The cavity has an inlet port that communicates with a water jacket of the engine and the cavity receives the coolant from the water jacket of the engine through the inlet port.

Nickel-based brazing foil and process for brazing

Disclosed is an amorphous, ductile brazing foil with a composition consisting essentially of Ni.sub.restCr.sub.aB.sub.bP.sub.cSi.sub.d with 2 atomic percent≦a≦30 atomic percent; 0.5 atomic percent≦b≦14 atomic percent; 2 atomic percent≦c≦20 atomic percent; 0 atomic percent≦d≦14 atomic percent; incidental impurities≦0.5 atomic percent; rest Ni, where c>b>c/15 and 10 atomic percent≦b+c+d≦25 atomic percent. Also disclosed is amorphous, ductile Ni-based brazing foil having a composition consisting essentially of Ni.sub.restCr.sub.aB.sub.bP.sub.cSi.sub.dC.sub.eX.sub.fY.sub.g wherein a, b, c, d, e, f, and g are numbers such that 2 atomic percent≦a≦30 atomic percent; 0.5 atomic percent≦b≦14 atomic percent; 2 atomic percent≦c≦20 atomic percent; 0 atomic percent≦d≦14 atomic percent; 0 atomic percent≦e≦5 atomic percent; 0 atomic percent≦f≦5 atomic percent; 0 atomic percent≦g≦20 atomic percent; wherein incidental impurities are present, if at all, in amounts≦0.5 atomic percent; wherein rest indicates that the balance of the composition is Ni; wherein c>b>c/15; wherein 10 atomic percent≦b+c+d≦25 atomic percent, wherein X is one or more of the elements Mo, Nb, Ta, W and Cu; and wherein Y is one or both of the elements Fe and Co. Also disclosed are methods for making and using these brazing foils, and brazed objects produced therefrom.

Also disclosed is amorphous, ductile Ni-based brazing foil having a composition consisting essentially of Ni.sub.restCr.sub.aB.sub.bP.sub.cSi.sub.dC.sub.eX.sub.fY.sub.g wherein a, b, c, d, e, f, and g are numbers such that 2 atomic percent≦a≦30 atomic percent; 0.5 atomic percent≦b≦14 atomic percent; 2 atomic percent≦c≦20 atomic percent; 0 atomic percent≦d≦14 atomic percent; 0 atomic percent≦e≦5 atomic percent; 0 atomic percent≦f≦5 atomic percent; 0 atomic percent≦g≦20 atomic percent; wherein incidental impurities are present, if at all, in amounts≦0.5 atomic percent; wherein rest indicates that the balance of the composition is Ni; wherein c>b>c/15; wherein 10 atomic percent≦b+c+d≦25 atomic percent, wherein X is one or more of the elements Mo, Nb, Ta, W and Cu; and wherein Y is one or both of the elements Fe and Co. Also disclosed are methods for making and using these brazing foils, and brazed objects produced therefrom.
