Systems and methods for delivering fuel to an internal combustion engine
11098663 · 2021-08-24 · ·

An illustrative fuel delivery system for an engine can include a fuel type indicator device and a flow management device. The flow management device can be configured to receive fuel from an auxiliary fuel tank and to direct it based on the type of fuel in the auxiliary fuel tank. If the type of fuel in the auxiliary fuel tank is a primary fuel type (such as diesel or gasoline), the flow management device can deliver the primary fuel to a piston cylinder of the engine. If the type of fuel in the auxiliary fuel tank is an auxiliary fuel (such as a mixture of ethanol and water the flow management device can deliver the auxiliary fuel to an air intake system of the engine.

Intake manifold

An intake manifold that allows air to flow through the intake manifold, engine, and exhaust from the engine, until the engine is cooled to a desired temperature.

Electronic fuel injection throttle body assembly

Present embodiments provide a throttle body which may be used with a variety of engines of different manufacturers. The throttle body may be used to replace mechanical or hydraulically controlled carburetors with electronic fuel injection. The throttle body may provide improved fuel pathways and fuel injector placement.

CARBON CAPTURE IN AN INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE
20210270159 · 2021-09-02 ·

An automobile includes an internal combustion engine having an emission control system, intake manifold and an exhaust manifold. A hydrogen source is positioned to deliver hydrogen to the intake manifold. Hydrogen and gasoline combustion takes place in a cylinder of the internal combustion engine and a catch device is positioned to receive fluid mixture from the exhaust manifold of the internal combustion engine. The catch device condenses the fluid mixture and a filter receives the condensed fluid mixture from the catch device and filters the condensed fluid mixture. A container is positioned to receive the filtered fluid mixture.

Method and system for manufacturing a family of intake manifolds for a family of internal combustion engines

A system for manufacturing a family of intake manifolds includes first and second intake molds. One of the first and second intake molds includes an outlet insert. A first intake manifold includes: a plenum chamber, a plenum chamber air inlet; a first number of intake runner passages; and the first number of outlets. Each of the outlets is fluidly connected to a corresponding one of the first number of intake runner passages. The second intake manifold includes: the plenum chamber; the plenum chamber air inlet; the first number of intake runner passages; and a second number of outlets. Each of the second number of outlets is fluidly connected to a corresponding one of the first number of intake runner passages. At least one of the first number of intake runner passages is not fluidly connected to any one of the second number of outlets of the second intake manifold.

Purging natural gas compressors

When a natural gas compressor completes its compression cycle, residual pressurized natural gas remains in the cylinders, valves, and conduits of the compressor. Gas leaks into the environment increasing greenhouse gas emissions and introducing safety concerns. The systems and methods herein provide ways for substantially reducing or eliminating leakage of natural gas to the atmosphere while the system sits idle between compression cycles.

Low pressure fuel injection system for a multi-cylinder light-duty internal combustion engine

In at least some implementations, a throttle body assembly includes a body that has multiple throttle bores, multiple throttle valve heads received one in each of the throttle bores, at least one throttle valve shaft to which the throttle valve heads are coupled, and at least one of a fuel metering valve and a vapor separator carried by the body.

Present embodiments provide an electronic fuel injection throttle body which may be used with a variety of engines of different manufacturers. The throttle body may be used to replace mechanical or hydraulically controlled carburetors with electronic fuel injection. The bores or barrels of the throttle body may comprise one or more stackable fuel injectors. The fuel component cover may include a regulator with a housing formed integrally with the fuel component cover or alternatively, a regulator may be located remotely.

Compressor bypass flow arrangement

Methods and devices are disclosed for introducing a compressor bypass flow that is returned from location that is downstream of a pressure source of an internal combustion engine to an air filter housing that is located upstream of the pressure source.

Intake device for saddle riding vehicle

In an intake device, an upper fuel injection device that injects a fuel and a suction port that suctions the air-fuel mixture supplied to a cylinder head are disposed in the air cleaner. The intake device includes the air cleaner including an air cleaner case and a sidewall filter that purifies an air suctioned into the air cleaner case. The sidewall filter partitions a space in the air cleaner case in a vehicle width direction, and has at least partially overlapping with the upper fuel injection device in the vehicle width direction.
