Variable valve device of vehicle air intake system

An embodiment variable valve device of a vehicle intake system includes a variable valve housing fixed to a housing of an air cleaner and including a valve passage penetrating the air cleaner, a variable valve flap rotatably coupled to the variable valve housing and configured to perform opening and closing operations based on an intake negative pressure of an engine to open and close the valve passage, and a cam protrusion and a leaf spring provided on the variable valve flap and the variable valve housing, respectively, wherein the cam protrusion and the leaf spring are in contact with each other.

Water ingestion control system for vehicle, water ingestion and evacuation system for vehicle, vehicle including same, and method
11466648 · 2022-10-11 · ·

A water ingestion control system for an internal combustion engine can include a snorkel, at least one closure structure, a choking valve, and a controller. The snorkel can include an air intake opening and at least one evacuation inlet that can be selectively opened and closed by the closure structure. The choking valve can be located between the air intake opening and an air box and selectively open and close fluid communication between the snorkel and the air box. When in a closed state, the choking valve can close fluid communication between the snorkel and the air box and prevents fluid in the snorkel from flowing into the air box and the engine. The controller can be configured to place the choking valve in the closed state when the controller receives data indicative of the presence of water in the snorkel.

SYSTEM ABLE TO CHANGE CROSS-SECTIONAL AREA OF AIR INTAKE TUBE

A system able to change a cross-sectional area of an air intake tube is provided. The system is disposed between a throttle valve and an air intake tube of an air cleaner, and includes an adjustment device, a control module, and a stepping motor. The adjustment device includes a retaining seat, a rotating disc fitted in the retaining seat, a plurality of blades disposed on the retaining seat and the rotating disc. After the control module receives signals of an engine and the throttle valve and transmits a control signal to the stepping motor, the stepping motor drives the rotating disc to pivot the blades for controlling the cross-sectional area of an opening of the air intake tube.

Vehicle including air intake

A snowmobile includes an engine including an engine head including a cylinder head, a supercharger, an intake manifold, throttle bodies, first joints that connect the intake manifold to the throttle bodies, second joints that connect the throttle bodies to the cylinder head, and a restrictor that connects the engine head to the first joints. The restrictor includes an engaging member that fits into grooves of the first joints, and connectors that connect the engaging member and the engine head to each other. A steering shaft is inserted between two mutually adjacent first joints which have a distance from each other greater than a distance between the other two mutually adjacent first joints.

Two-stroke internal combustion engine with crankcase lubrication system
20170362972 · 2017-12-21 ·

A two-cycle internal combustion engine with rear compression chamber, other than that of a crank case. This present engine has valves that can be screwed on the engine block near top dead center, and is actuated by air pressure. This present two-cycle engine yet uses an oil sump similar to that of a four-cycle engine, which eliminating the need to premix oil with the fuel. This present engine has a stationary piston which operates within a movable piston to form a rear-compression chamber. The movable piston has ports near its crown to transfer charge to the combustion chamber. The movable piston also has ports near bottom of its skirt to allow the fuel and air mixture to enter the rear compression chamber. This engine has a piston seat which is adapted to connect the movable piston to the connecting rod.

Controlling vehicle exhaust

An air intake system for a vehicle comprises an exterior air inlet disposed on the vehicle that receives air from an exterior of the vehicle. An air outlet is disposed on the vehicle that supplies air to an engine of the vehicle. A conduit network connects the exterior air inlet and the air outlet. An interior air device disposed on the vehicle is connected to the conduit network allowing air from an interior of the vehicle into the engine. A base plate with an opening is attached to the conduit network. A hatch connected the base plate allows air from the interior of the vehicle through the opening.

Intake assembly for an internal combustion engine

An intake assembly for an internal-combustion engine includes an intake duct for each cylinder, which communicates with an airbox that includes a filtering element. Each intake duct communicates with the airbox by a respective throttle body. A monitoring channel connects the intake ducts together and is configured for perturbing in a negligible way the dynamics of the fluid inside the intake ducts. Associated to said monitoring duct are sensors for monitoring the pressure inside the monitoring duct and designed to send signals indicating the value of pressure of the fluid taken in by the engine to an electronic control unit.
