Sprung gate valves movable by a solenoid actuator

A sprung gate for a valve having an endless elastic band sandwiched between first and second gate members that each define an opening therethrough in an open position portion thereof, which collectively form a passage through the sprung gate. The first gate member includes a fastener connected to a fastener receiving member of the second gate member thereby securing the first and second gate members together as a unit. This sprung gate unit is operatively connected to an actuator for linear translation within a pocket of a conduit to control fluid flow through the conduit. This assembled device may be manufactured using spin welding to sealingly mate the conduit to a housing enclosing the actuator.

Fresh air supply device

A fresh air supply device for an internal combustion engine may include a filter element arranged in a filter compartment. A charge-air cooler may be arranged in a cooler compartment. A one-piece housing may integrally include the filter compartment and the cooler compartment. The charge-air cooler may have a coolant inlet, a coolant outlet and an internal coolant path which connects the coolant inlet to the coolant outlet. The internal coolant path may be coupled in a heat-transferring manner to a charge-air path extending inside the housing and through the cooler compartment.

Intake device

An intake duct that includes a first flange projecting outward from an edge of the intake duct on a throttle body side. An intake manifold that includes a second flange projecting outward from an edge of the intake manifold on a throttle body side. A plurality of spacers is provided between the first flange and the second flange around the throttle body. The first flange and the second flange are fastened via the plurality of spacers in a state where the throttle body is held between the intake duct and the intake manifold.

The blowoff valve has a valve housing, an engine-air interface, and a multiple piston assembly. The valve housing is configured to secure to the duct system at a duct-air interface. The engine-air interface is configured to allow air in and out of the valve housing. The multiple piston assembly is disposed within the valve housing and includes an upper piston and a lower piston that move in unison. The multiple piston assembly is configured to be in a closed position while a pressure differential is above a certain threshold and to be in an open position while the pressure differential is below said certain threshold. While in the open position, a portion of the air in the duct system is released.

ENGINE AIR SHUT-OFF VALVE SYSTEM

The engine shut-off valve system includes a housing, a gate member, a rotating lever, a locking piston assembly, and a closing piston assembly. The system is installed in fluid connection with a flow line so that air flow passes through a passageway in the housing with the gate member in the locked configuration. The air flow through the passageway stops with the gate member in the closed configuration. The gate member has an asymmetry so that the forces of the spring of the closing piston assembly and the spring of the locking piston assembly are cooperative to actuate between the closed configuration and the locked configuration, while wearing on the gate member differently so as to extend the working life of the valve system. The closing piston assembly and the locking piston assembly are separately accessible for maintenance.
