High-pressure fuel pump
A high-pressure fuel pump includes a pump housing with a housing wall and a damping device configured to damp inlet-side pressure pulses by varying a damping volume with an elastically deformable wall. At least one section of the elastically deformable wall is formed from one or more of at least one part of a jacket-like area of the housing wall and at least one part of a sealing support. The section is embodied such that it includes at least one main part configured to vary the damping volume.
Automotive fuel pump
A fuel pump having a housing defining a pump chamber and an inlet and outlet fluidly connected to the pump chamber. A one way check valve is disposed fluidly in series between the pump chamber and the outlet and is oriented to allow fluid flow from the pump chamber and to the outlet when the check valve is open. A venturi tube is fluidly connected in series between the pump chamber and the outlet which effectively dampens noise pulsations. An inlet valve to the pump chamber has an anchor attached to a valve member and the stationary core. A conical surface on the core abuts against a complementary conical surface on the anchor when the valve is either in its fully open or fully closed position.
PUMP HAVING PILOT-ACTUATED ADMISSION VALVE
A pump includes a pump body having an admission valve movable therein to alternately block and unblock a valve seat to connect a low pressure space to a pumping chamber. A control valve is positioned fluidly between a control chamber and the low pressure space, and moves between a closed position where the control chamber receives high pressure for hydraulically actuating the admission valve, and an open position where the control chamber is connected to the low pressure space to enable closing of the admission valve. The pilot actuation of the admission valve produces a greater travel distance and efficiency than what might be available with certain other actuating mechanisms.
Fuel unit pump and internal combustion engine including a fuel unit pump
A fuel unit pump for an internal combustion engine includes a fuel unit pump body, a pumping plunger and a roller tappet for contacting a cam lobe of a rotatable shaft of the internal combustion engine. The roller tappet includes a roller tappet body connected to the pumping plunger, and a cam roller rotatably mounted on a cam roller carrier and defining a cam roller rotation axis. The cam roller carrier is coupled to the roller tappet body and is elastically deformable for aligning the cam roller with the cam lobe.
Tappet roller retaining approach
A roller assembly, comprising a roller shoe having a bottom surface, and a groove at the bottom surface, the groove having a semicircular portion and a straight portion extending from the semicircular portion, the semicircular portion having a first diameter and the straight portion having a first width, and a cylindrical roller positioned in the roller shoe groove, the cylindrical roller having a second diameter, wherein the first width is greater than or equal to the first diameter and the second diameter is less than the first width.
High-Pressure Fuel Pump For A Fuel Injection System
Various embodiments include a high-pressure fuel pump for a fuel injection system comprising: a housing defining a housing bore with a pressure chamber in a first end region and a leakage chamber in a second end region; a pump piston, during operation of the high-pressure fuel pump moved in translation between the pressure chamber and the leakage chamber along an axis; wherein the leakage chamber includes a leakage collecting region and an equalizing region arranged in circular annular fashion around the pump piston guiding section and extending parallel to the axis from the leakage collecting region toward the pressure chamber; and a low-pressure damper arranged in the equalizing region, the low-pressure damper comprising an annular piston damper and an annular piston guided to move along the axis within an annular bushing.
Welded high-pressure fuel pump roller tappet
A welded high-pressure fuel pump roller tappet, which is used for the fuel injection system in an engine, includes a guide sleeve, a U-shaped holder and a pin-shaft-roller set. Symmetrical positions on the upper portion of left and right sidewalls of the guide sleeve are provided with inflexed flanges. Two sides of the flange are folded inwardly to form a limiting slot. The U-shaped holder includes a bottom plate and side plates located on left and right sides of the bottom plate. Symmetrical positions on two side plates are provided with axle holes. The pin-shaft-roller set is set up between two side plates of the U-shaped holder. Symmetrical positions on the upper portion of the flange are provided with opening slots. After assembly, the U-shaped holder is located between two flanges. Two side plates are located inside the limiting slots in the flanges.
Injector assembly and method of using same
An assembly at least comprising a fuel injector for dual fuel operation of an internal combustion engine. The assembly includes a nozzle holder defining a fuel circuit and provided with a nose adapted in use to be in connection with a combustion space of an internal combustion engine, and first and second nozzles in communication with the fuel circuit in the nozzle holder for directly injecting liquid fuel into the combustion space of the internal combustion engine for ignition of a combustible mixture present in the combustion space. The first and second nozzles adjacent to the nose of the nozzle holder are interconnected by a cooling channel. At each actuation of a fuel pump upstream of the first and second nozzles, substantially a full volume of fuel pumped during actuation of the fuel pump is allowed to flow through the cooling channel and via the first and second nozzles.
High pressure fuel pump
A high pressure fuel pump includes a pump head from which extends a turret, a bore extends along a main axis from a pumping chamber through the turret to an open end. A piston is arranged in the bore and protrudes out of the turret, an outer extremity being provided with a cam follower. A spring is arranged around the piston and slipped over the turret, the spring is compressed between the cam follower and the main part of the pump head. A cup shaped sleeve is arranged around the turret and defines a volume between the turret and the peripheral wall which fills with fuel that has leaked between the piston and the blind bore from the pumping chamber. A bottom face of the sleeve is provided with a hole through which the piston extends. An opening in the peripheral wall allows fuel to exit the volume.
Mechanical system forming a cam follower or a rocker arm
A mechanical system forming one of a cam follower or a rocker arm, the mechanical system comprising: a support element, a pin extending between two opposite ends along a first axis and supported by the support element, and a roller mounted on pin, movable in rotation relative to the pin around the first axis and adapted to roll on a cam. The support element includes a bearing body adapted to receive pin, and an additional retaining member blocking the translation of pin back and forth, along first axis.
