MULTI-DIMPLE ORIFICE DISC FOR A FLUID INJECTOR, AND METHODS FOR CONSTRUCTING AND UTILIZING SAME
A fluid injector for injecting fluid is disclosed, including a body, a fluid passageway defined through the body and extending from an inlet to an outlet of the fluid injector; a valve seat disposed internally of the body and forming part of the passageway; and a valve element that is selectively reciprocated relative to the valve seat to close and open the passageway to the flow of fluid by seating and unseating the valve element on and from the valve seat, respectively. The fluid injector further includes an orifice disc disposed in the passageway downstream of the valve seat in a direction of the flow of fluid through the fluid injector. The orifice disc includes a plurality of dimples and a plurality of orifices defined through the orifice disc, with each dimple including at least one orifice defined therethrough.
Fuel Injector With Precluded Fuel Flow at Sac Volume
A fuel injector for an internal combustion engine. The fuel injector has a needle and a nozzle that inter-relate with each other in assembly. Relative movement between the needle and nozzle bring the fuel injector between a closed state of operation and an open state of operation amid use of the fuel injector. The nozzle has one or more passages therein through which fuel is discharged. Fuel flow is precluded at a sac volume of the fuel injector.
Valve for metering a fluid, especially a fuel injector
A valve (or fuel injector), which provides that the valve-seat member exhibits high structural strength and fatigue strength under vibratory stresses, includes an excitable actuator for actuating a valve-closing member which, with a valve-seat face on the valve-seat member, forms a sealing seat, and injection openings which are downstream of the valve-seat face, the injection openings being in a center area of the valve-seat member projecting outwardly dome-like in the injection direction. The dome-like center area has a curved outer contour, the curvature in a radially inner section having a larger radius than the radius of the curvature in a radially outer section of the dome, which ends radially outside the mouth areas of all injection openings, in a recessed depression, that is followed radially outwardly by an axially projecting edge area of the valve-seat member. The fuel injector directly injects fuel into a combustion chamber of an engine.
Fuel injector valve seat assembly including insert locating and retention features
A fuel injector (1) including a fuel injector housing (2), a valve seat (4) formed at one end of the fuel injector housing, and a valve body (10) disposed in the fuel injector housing and operable to open and close a spray hole (20) in the valve seat. The valve seat includes a base portion (16) and insert portion (26) having spray holes (8) that is secured to the base portion (16).
VALVE AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING A VALVE
A valve is provided, in particular an injection valve, having a valve seat and a valve needle which extends along a closing direction for the most part, the valve seat having a valve-seat surface, and a valve-closing element is mounted on an end of the valve needle facing the valve seat, the valve-closing element being able to be moved between an open position and a closed position, and the valve-closing element together with the valve-seat surface forming a sealing seat in the closed position, the valve-closing element having a greater core hardness and/or surface hardness than the valve-seat surface.
FUEL INJECTION DEVICE
It is possible to prevent a change in the spray pattern and injection flow rate and an increase of particulate matters in the exhaust gas due to residual fuel left in the vicinity of an injection hole outlet carbonized and adhered as deposit. A fuel injection valve includes a displaceable valve body, a valve seat surface that touches the valve body, and an injection hole cup including at least one injection hole formed on the valve body's tip end side and beyond where the valve seat surface touches the valve body. The injection hole cup includes a low lipophilic portion and a lipophilic portion formed on the injection hole cup's surface, the lipophilic portion is formed inside at least a part of a range in which the low lipophilic portion is formed, and at least one portion of the low lipophilic portion is connected to the injection hole's end portion.
INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE COMPRISING A FUEL INJECTION NOZZEL WITH AN ADDITIONAL SUPPLY OF A COMBUSTION-PROMOTING MEDIUM INTO THE COMBUSTION CHAMBER
A reciprocating piston-type internal combustion engine includes a cylinder head that has an inlet valve that can be supplied with combustion air from a cylinder inlet line connected to the inlet valve, comprising a pressure accumulator, out of which an additional medium that promotes the combustion in the cylinder can be supplied to the cylinder in a controlled manner, and an injection nozzle, via which fuel can be injected into the cylinder. The additional medium is a combustion air/fuel mixture according to the invention. The pressure accumulator is connected to the injection nozzle which has a nozzle needle, and the additional medium can be introduced into the cylinder in a controlled manner by means of the injection nozzle.
FUEL INJECTION DEVICE
The present invention is directed to achieving an appropriate L/D of each injection hole in a fuel injection device in which a plurality of injection holes is formed. To achieve the object, provided is a fuel injection device including a valve body and an injection hole forming portion in which a plurality of injection holes is formed on a more downstream side than a seat portion on which the valve body is seated, in which the injection hole forming portion is formed in a manner such that a valve body central axis and a central axis of the injection hole forming portion are horizontally deviated in a vertical cross-sectional surface passing through the valve body central axis.
Assembly for fuel injector and coating method for the same
An assembly for a fuel injector includes a base material, a coated region formed on a surface of the base material, an uncoated region formed on a surface of the base material, in contact with and supported by a jig, and formed to be partitioned from the coated region so as to prevent the coated region from peeling off during laser welding, and a coating material stacked in a multilayer structure on the coated region. As a result, friction reduction, high hardness, impact resistance, heat resistance, and durability of the assembly may be improved, and a portion requiring the coating may be precisely coated.

A director plate retainer of a fluid injector includes an outer wall which is annular in shape and which extends from an outer wall first end to an outer wall second end and which is centered about an axis. The director plate retainer also includes a lateral wall which is annular in shape and which extends toward the axis from a radially outer extent, which is proximal to the outer wall, to a radially inner extent, which is distal from the outer wall. The director plate retainer also includes an inner wall which is annular in shape and which extends from an inner wall first end, which is proximal to the lateral wall, to an inner wall second end, which is distal from the lateral wall, the inner wall extending along the axis in a direction that is opposite from the outer wall.
