Systems and methods for preventing activation of a starter based on engine speed

Systems and methods for preventing activation of a starter when engine speed is above a threshold engine speed value are disclosed. In examples, an engine driven power system includes an engine and a current transformer to generate an induced current in response to an excitation current from an excitation circuit. As the excitation current is induced in response to rotational movement of the engine, the excitation current and the induced current exhibits characteristics corresponding to engine speed. A control circuit receives a signal from the current transformer representing characteristics representative of engine speed and determines the engine speed, compares the characteristics to a list of values that correlates current characteristics to engine speed, compare a list of threshold engine speed values to the calculated engine speed value, and prevents activation of an engine starter if the control circuitry determines that the engine speed exceeds the threshold engine speed value.

REMOTE USER INTERFACE COMMANDED VEHICLE INTERIOR SANITIZATION

A vehicle comprising an interior; a heat source in thermal communication with the interior; a source of ultraviolet light disposed to emit the ultraviolet light into the interior; and a controller in communication with the heat source and the source of the ultraviolet light, the controller configured to cause (i) the heat source to increase a temperature of the interior, (ii) the source of the ultraviolet light to emit the ultraviolet light into the interior, or (iii) both (i) and (ii) upon receiving a command from a remote user interface. The vehicle can further include a combustion engine that combusts fuel to propel the vehicle. The vehicle can further include a battery in electrical communication with the source of the ultraviolet light and in communication with the controller, the battery having a voltage.

Two-wheeled vehicle

A two-wheeled vehicle is provided including a frame, front and rear ground-engaging members each supporting the frame, a straddle-type seat, a handlebar for steering the vehicle, at least one light device configured to operate in a hazard mode, an engine supported by the frame and operably coupled to the ground-engaging members, a tilt sensor, and a vehicle control unit in communication with the tilt sensor. The vehicle control unit is operative to detect a tilt angle of the vehicle based on output from the tilt sensor. The vehicle control unit is operative to determine a tip-over condition of the vehicle based on the detected tilt angle exceeding a threshold tilt angle. The vehicle control unit activates the hazard mode of the at least one light in response to the determination of the tip-over condition.

Remote startup system, center server, and remote startup method

A remote startup system includes: a terminal; a center server configured to receive a startup request; and a vehicle having a driving device, the vehicle configured to receive a startup request, and start up the driving device, wherein at least one of the center server and the vehicle includes an information acquisition unit configured to acquire information on transmission availability state of a power transmission device that transmits power of the driving device in the vehicle to driving wheels, or information on an operation state of a rotation prevention device that prevents rotation of the driving wheels when a function of transmitting the startup request is activated or when the startup request is transmitted, and a permission determination unit configured to determine whether to permit the startup of the driving device based on the startup request, based on the information acquired by the information acquisition unit.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR STARTING AN ENGINE

Methods and systems for operating an engine with an electrically heated catalyst and an electrically driven compressor are described. In one example, the electrically driven compressor and the electrically heated catalyst are activated before an engine start so that vehicle emissions may be reduced more efficiently at engine starting and thereafter.

Forced neutral remote start-up control method and manual transmission vehicle

A forced neutral remote start-up control method is provided. The method includes performing an E-clutch neutral switching control, which confirms the presence of an E-clutch upon receiving a remote start-up request signal of an Electronic Control Unit (ECU) to form a vehicle neutral state by an E-clutch state switching before generating an engine start-up signal, and performing an engine start-up by generating the engine start-up signal after confirming the vehicle neutral state.

Interactive remote start according to energy availability

An interactive remote start function is provided. A remote start request selected from a human machine interface (HMI) of an access application of a mobile device is received to a vehicle. Responsive to an estimated energy consumption of the vehicle exceeding available energy of the vehicle, a plurality of corrective actions are sent to the mobile device to be displayed in the HMI. A selection of one of the plurality of corrective actions is received from the mobile device. The one of the plurality of corrective actions is implemented to mitigate the estimated energy consumption of the vehicle exceeding the available energy of the vehicle.
