The coupling line is configured to transmit power from a node between the DC-to-DC converter and the first switch to the second power line. The second switch selectively opens and closes an electric circuit of the coupling line.

START-STOP CONTROL APPARATUS

Provided is a start-stop control apparatus to be mounted in a vehicle including an engine, a starter motor configured to restart the engine, and an auxiliary battery configured to supply electric power to the starter motor. The start-stop control apparatus includes a stop processing unit and an engine measuring unit. The stop processing unit stops idling of the engine while the vehicle is being stopped. The engine measuring unit measures an internal loss of the engine. The stop processing unit determines whether to stop the idling of the engine on the basis of the internal loss measured by the engine measuring unit and the state of charge of the auxiliary battery.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR ENHANCED OPERATOR CONTROL OF FUEL SAVING MODES

The present disclosure generally relates to a system and method for providing enhanced operator-controlled fuel saving modes for a vehicle to optimize fuel economy of a vehicle. In one embodiment, the fuel saving optimization system and method enables the operator to create fuel saving configurations which include operator input as to how to operate one or more devices while the vehicle is within a specific locale and under a specific conditions or in response to specific event occurring. The fuel saving optimization system stores each created fuel saving configuration for a future use, and executes each fuel saving configuration when the vehicle is under the specified conditions. In certain embodiments, the input is provided by the operator in real time or can be retrieved via past travel history data on a particular route which is stored in a database.

The UPS system includes a second energy storage device configured to store and provide DC electrical power, and a DC interface electrically coupled between the first and second energy storage devices. The UPS system further includes a DC-AC inverter electrically coupled to the second energy storage system configured to invert the DC power to AC power, an AC power interface electrically coupled to the DC-AC inverter configured to provide an electrical connection to an external load, and a control system configured to selectively operate the charging device of the vehicle.

Apparatus for detecting rammer tip-over

In an apparatus for detecting tip-over of a rammer equipped with a crankcase accommodating an output shaft rotatably connected to an engine, a movable unit accommodating a converter mechanism for converting rotation of the output shaft to vertical motion of a movable member, a tamping shoe connected to the movable unit, and a handle operable by an user, and adapted to thrust upward in the gravitational direction by the vertical motion of the movable member and go into a free fall to compact a ground surface, it is determined whether a detected engine speed becomes equal to or smaller than a threshold value set lower than an engine idling speed when the engine has been operated at a rammer working speed set greater than the engine idling speed, and if it does, it is discriminated that the rammer has tipped over.

A welding-type power system that includes an engine and an electric generator driven by the engine. A power bus configured to connect a power output of the electric generator to one or more of a welding-type output, a power storage device, and a switched mode power supply. A plurality of sensors are configured to monitor a plurality of parameters associated with power demand to and from the power bus and generate a signal indicative of the power demand to and from the power bus based on the monitored plurality of parameters. A controller is configured to receive the signal from the plurality of sensors, the controller to control the engine speed in response to the signal or the power demand.

Control system and control method of vehicle

A control system of a vehicle includes an electronic control unit. The electronic control unit is configured to (a) measure characteristics of a battery installed on the vehicle, (b) determine whether the battery is a designated battery or a non-designated battery, based on at least one of the characteristics, and (c) determine whether an idling stop function of the vehicle is permitted to be executed, based on a threshold value of at least one of the characteristics of the battery. The threshold value is set to a first threshold value when the battery is determined as the designated battery, and set to a second threshold value that is different from the first threshold value when the battery is determined as the non-designated battery.

An electronic control device automatically stops an engine operation when a remaining electric power amount index value is equal to or larger than an engine stop permission threshold. The device automatically restarts the engine operation when the remaining electric power amount index value is smaller than an engine restart threshold after the engine operation is automatically stopped. The device changes the engine stop permission threshold from a first threshold, which has been set until a start of an activation of an electric actuator, to a second threshold, which is larger than the first threshold, when the automatic engine stop is not carried out and the activation of the actuator is detected.
