Coolant pump having a use-optimised structure and improved thermal efficiency

In an electrical coolant pump, preferably for use as an additional water pump in a vehicle, a radial bearing of the shaft is provided by means of a radial slide bearing lubricated with coolant on the separating element which is disposed between the pump impeller and the rotor. A dry-running electric motor has a radially inner stator and a radially outer rotor is accommodated within the motor chamber. A shaft seal is disposed between the radial slide bearing and the motor chamber. The rotor is formed in a cup shape, the inner surface of which faces the shaft seal and is fixed to the shaft in an axially overlapping manner. The motor chamber has an opening to the atmosphere which is closed by a liquid-tight and vapor-permeable pressure equalizing membrane. The separating element is configured as a support flange with a separating portion and an axial projection into the motor chamber, to which the stator is attached. The control unit is disposed between the separating element and the stator in the axial direction.

Seal device

In an exemplary embodiment, a seal device 10 that seals between a housing 11 and a rotation shaft 20 passing through the housing 11 includes a floating ring 15 arranged with a gap h with respect to the rotation shaft 20, wherein the floating ring 15 includes at least one supporting means 18 that supports in the circumferential direction. In the seal device, the floating ring follows movement of the rotation shaft even upon running for a long time, a clearance between the rotation shaft and the seal ring can be properly held, and the sealing operation by the floating ring and the vibration damping function can be exerted, and the seal device is easily assembled.

The impeller is shaped to deliver the fluid. The drive device with the shaft is designed to drive the impeller. The shaft housing is shaped to receive the shaft and/or the drive device. The sealing device comprises at least one casing sealing element and/or an impeller sealing element which is received between the drive device and the impeller and which is designed to prevent fluid from entering the drive device and/or the shaft casing during operation of the pump.

An improved pump and sealing assembly having particular utility to vertically extending pumps/pump shafts provides an arrangement that enables field repair as opposed to requiring travel of the host vessel to a shipyard. The apparatus includes an adapter housing that is configured to provide easy access to set screws that enable field disassembly. This adapter housing carries a sleeve and a bearing. The adapter housing can be fitted to a pump seal assembly that can include a mechanical seal and under bearing assembly.

At least a part of the small-diameter portion is located at the pulley side relative to the large-diameter portion. An annular first clearance is formed between the cylindrical portion of the pulley and the large-diameter portion. A second cylindrical portion is provided on the bottom portion of the pulley. An annular second clearance is formed between the second cylindrical portion and the small-diameter portion.

A sliding bearing having a sealing arrangement for water pumps, configured to radially mount and seal a shaft in a housing between a wet side and a dry side. The sliding bearing and the sealing arrangement include a sliding bearing bushing made of a sintering material for radial mounting of the shaft, and a dry-side shaft seal arranged between the sliding bearing bushing and the dry side. A wet-side shaft seal is arranged between the wet side and the sliding bearing bushing and a lubricant reservoir with a substrate, made of a non-sintered material, which is porous in at least some sections, is arranged at least between the wet-side shaft seal and the sliding bearing bushing. The lubricant reservoir includes, in pores of the substrate, a lubricant insoluble in water. A volume of the lubricant reservoir and a volume of a lubricant filling take up a total volume of spaces between the wet-side shaft seal and the dry-side shaft seal.
