STATOR VANE AND AIRCRAFT GAS TURBINE ENGINE
A stator vane provided rearward of a rotor blade, includes: an airfoil body having an airfoil profile. The maximum airfoil thickness position of the airfoil body on the airfoil profile satisfies following conditions at least on a tip side of the airfoil body: (a) on a plane expanded in a circumferential direction in which the stator vane is arranged, the position is located in a first region which is close to a trailing edge of the airfoil body from an intersection of the airfoil body and a line which is parallel to an extension line of a camber line of the rotor blade at a trailing edge of the rotor blade and passes through a leading edge of another stator vane adjacent in the circumferential direction, and (b) the position is located in a second region having a chord ratio from 0.2 to 0.8.
COMPRESSOR SHROUD WITH SWEPT GROOVES
A compressor for an aircraft engine. A rotor includes blades rotatable about an axis. Blade tips extend between leading and trailing edges. A shroud surrounds the rotor, with an inner surface surrounding the tips. Grooves are defined in the shroud inner surface adjacent the tips. The grooves extend circumferentially about the shroud and radially from inlet openings to closed end surfaces. Groove sidewalls extend circumferentially about the axis. The grooves are axially spaced-apart, the most upstream inlet opening having an upstream end disposed upstream of the leading edges of the blades. The grooves have a swept angle from the inner surface, with a center of the inlet openings is axially offset of a center of the closed-end surfaces. The grooves span an overall axial distance corresponding to 30% or more of the blades’ chord length. The grooves have circumferential interruptions defined by baffles, and extend non-continuously around a shroud circumference.
Engine systems and methods
Disclosed examples include a retrofit fan frame assembly, comprising: a leading edge adjustment component coupleable to an airfoil, the leading edge adjustment component of variable chord length, the variable chord length to increase and then decrease along a radial length from a hub end of the airfoil to an opposite tip end of the airfoil; and an attachment mechanism configured to couple the leading edge adjustment component to a leading edge of the airfoil.
FAN AND ELECTRIC HAIR DRYER WITH IMPROVED AIR OUTLET PERFORMANCE
A fan includes an air cylinder and an air outlet hood. An interior of the air cylinder is hollow to form a hollow cavity. The air cylinder has an air inlet and an air outlet. The air outlet hood is detachably disposed on the air outlet. The air outlet hood is provided with an annular air outlet for air outlet. An outer ring and/or an inner ring of the annular air outlet is formed with an annular guide rib extending toward the air inlet. The annular guide rib is configured to make an airflow cross section adjacent to the annular air outlet gradually decrease, so as to make an airflow in the air outlet hood cohesive, thereby increasing an air outlet speed of the annular air outlet. A hair dryer having the fan is also disclosed.
Blower
A blower may include a fan, a casing including a discharge port and housing the fan, and a nozzle attachable to the discharge port. The nozzle may include a nozzle tube in which air flows, and a plate member disposed within the nozzle tube. A rear end surface of the plate member may be inclined to a flow direction in which air flows within the nozzle tube.
Bleed air extraction device for a gas turbine engine
The invention relates to a bleed air extraction device for a turbomachine, which has: an axial compressor, formed in a flow path and having at least one compressor stage, which comprises a rotor and a stator, and a bleed air duct, which is provided and designed to guide a bleed air flow branched off from the flow path of the axial compressor. In this case, the bleed air duct comprises an inlet opening, which is formed downstream of a stator of the axial compressor in the radially outer flow path boundary, an axially forward wall adjoining the inlet opening, and an axially rearward wall adjoining the inlet opening. Guide means are provided, which are provided and designed for the purpose of guiding at least a portion of the bleed air flow branched off from the flow path in the direction of the axially forward wall of the bleed air duct.
Integrated electric submersible pumping system with electromagnetically driven impeller
An electric submersible pumping system is constructed with an outer housing which contains an integrated pump and motor. The pump may comprise an impeller disposed within a stator of the motor to form an integrated pump and the motor. An electric submersible pumping system includes a stator having a passage extending longitudinally through the stator. A plurality of stages, including impellers and diffusers, are disposed within the passage.
THICKENED RADIALLY OUTER ANNULAR PORTION OF A SEALING FIN
A blisk 10 for a gas turbine includes a rotor blade row 12 extending around a central axis X and, axially spaced therefrom and extending coaxially therewith, at least one annular sealing fin 11. The sealing fin has a radially outer annular portion 111 that is thickened as compared to a radially more inward annular portion 113. A compressor 1 includes a rotor and a casing 30. The casing includes at least one stator vane row having at least one abradable liner. The rotor includes at least one blisk 10, whose at least one sealing fin 11 at least partly engages in the abradable liner. A turbine is constructed analogously. A method for manufacturing a blisk 10 for a gas turbine includes producing a blisk 10 having least one annular sealing fin 11, as well as applying a coating 116 to a radially outer surface 115 of a thickened annular portion 111 of sealing fin 11.
AIRFOIL WITH CAST FEATURES AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURE
An apparatus and method for forming a film hole in an outer wall of an airfoil. The film hole includes a blind opening adjacent the interior of the airfoil and a hole adjacent the exterior of the airfoil. The blind opening fluidly couples to the hole to form the film hole for providing a volume of fluid as a surface cooling film along the exterior of the outer wall.
CUSTOMIZED BLEND LIMIT FOR GAS TURBINE ENGINE AIRFOILS
A method of developing a suggested blend repair to an airfoil includes the steps of: (a) storing history with regard to a particular airfoil in a particular engine; (b) taking information with regard to new damage to the particular airfoil; (c) reaching an initial blend recommendation based upon step (b); (d) assessing whether the initial blend recommendation of step (c) would be appropriate to repair the new damage based upon a consideration of steps (a)-(c); and (e) reporting a final blend recommendation. An airfoil repair recommendation system is also disclosed.
