Metal-to-metal sealing for diffusers of an electrical submersible well pump
A well pump assembly includes a centrifugal pump having a housing with a cylindrical internal side wall. Upper and lower diffusers are located in the housing. A metal-to-metal seal seals an upper end portion of the lower diffuser to the lower end portion of the upper diffuser. The seal also has an outer surface that frictionally engages the internal side wall of the housing. The seal is energized in response to an axial force exerted between the upper and lower diffusers. One version has a metal seal ring located in mating recesses on the outer walls of the diffusers. Another version includes an inner lip on one of the end portions of the diffusers that extends within and deflects an outer lip on the other of the end portions of the diffusers.

A centrifugal compressor includes a first stage and a second stage. At least one of the first stage and the second stage includes an impeller and a shroud spaced from the impeller and configured to guide a fluid flow through the impeller. The shroud is selectively moveable between an engaged position and a disengaged position.
PASSIVE CLEARANCE CONTROL FOR A CENTRIFUGAL IMPELLER SHROUD
A centrifugal impeller shroud assembly has a dynamically moveable impeller shroud for encasing a rotatable centrifugal impeller and resolving misalignment between the impeller shroud and the rotatable centrifugal impeller. The assembly comprises a static casing, an impeller shroud, a shroud arm, and a thermal member. The shroud arm is coupled between the casing and the impeller shroud. The thermal member is coupled to the impeller shroud and has a coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE) lower than the CTE of the shroud. The shroud arm comprises a flexible portion configured to flex responsive to a differential pressure across the shroud arm.
Coolant Pump Having an Improved Gap Seal
A coolant pump that includes: a rotating slide ring, which is arranged on the pump impeller towards an axial end of the entry opening; a static slide ring, which is arranged on the pump housing around the mouth of the inlet opposite the rotating slide ring; the rotating slide ring has a sliding surface and the static slide ring has a sliding surface, the sliding surfaces are facing one another and form a sliding bearing that receives a force directed axially away from the pump impeller to the pump housing; and a microstructure for creating a hydrodynamic lubricating film between the sliding surfaces is formed on at least one of the sliding surfaces facing one another, the microstructure includes cavities that collect liquid coolant on the at least one sliding surface.
SIDE CHANNEL COMPRESSOR HAVING A SEAL ASSEMBLY
A side channel compressor for compressing a gas comprises a housing (3) and at least one impeller (2) which is arranged in the housing (3) and can be driven in rotation about a central axis (4). In addition, the side channel compressor has at least one seal assembly (38) which is arranged in the housing (3) and has at least one sealing device (47) which seals at least one gap (59) between the housing (3) and the at least one impeller (2) and forces said impeller (2) radially outward with respect to the central axis (4) in order to keep the at least one gap (59) small. The at least one seal assembly (38) also comprises at least one sealing-device-holding device (46) which holds the at least one sealing device (47) in an axially secured fashion with respect to the central axis (4) and has at least one main holding body (48).

A method for treating liquid food products after direct heating comprises a first cooling of the liquid food product occurring on a floor of the infuser vessel up to an outlet opening. A second cooling of the liquid food product occurs in a tubular section connecting directly to the outlet opening. A third cooling of the liquid food product occurs in a housing cover of a pump housing of a centrifugal pump. At least one flushing operation of the pump housing and of an impeller via a rear impeller gap is performed, wherein the at least flushing operation occurs via a front impeller gap located between the housing cover and the impeller. Volume flows of the at least one flushing operation are greater than equalization flows within the pump housing.

A system for controlling the clearance distance between an impeller blade tip of a centrifugal compressor and a radially inner surface of a segregated impeller shroud in a turbine engine. The system comprises a driving mechanism coupled to a portion of a segregated impeller shroud. The driving mechanism comprises a driving arm and threaded axial member configured to translate motion of an actuator ring into axially forward and aft motion of the portion of the segregated impeller shroud.

The position adjustment portion includes a first plate that is provided on the vehicle body and includes a first through portion vertically penetrating, a second plate that is provided on the blower unit, vertically penetrates, and includes a second through portion communicating with the first through portion from below when the blower unit is at the closed position, and an adjustment bolt that includes a shaft portion inserted into the first through portion and the second through portion.

A device for adjusting a gap between the housing of an impeller and the impeller in a radial compressor of a turbomachine is provided. The device comprises at least one mechanical setting device by means of which the housing of the impeller can be axially adjusted in a targeted manner for the purpose of adjusting the gap, wherein the at least one setting device can be actuated via an adjusting ring, and a transmission of a force and/or a torsional moment from the adjusting ring can be effected via at least one adjustment lever device, in particular a thread lever, or a tilting lever.
