The invention disclosed herein comprises a system focusing water current into a relatively smaller diameter lumen, imparting vortical movement to the current, and directing the water vortex through an even smaller diameter lumen en route to turbine blades having long curved blades rotatable along an axis parallel with the lumen. Rotation of the turbine blades turns gearing interfacing with the circumference of the turbine assembly, to rotate a drive shaft connected to a generator.

CYCLONIC WIND ENERGY CONVERTER

The present invention relates to a cyclonic or anti-cyclonic conversion generator comprising a hollow and rigid structure (1) having at the upper end thereof diffusing deflectors (2) to produce a venturi effect and means for converting the kinetic energy of the outside wind into electrical energy, said hollow and rigid structure comprising: means for generating a primary flow (3) and means for generating a secondary flow (4) or vortex core, using convectors (5), (6); and means that facilitate the vertical movement of the primary flow and the secondary flow, using slopes that increase the peripheral flow (12) or a central protrusion or convex surface (11). The generator can be used for generating cyclones and anti-cyclones and can be used with any fluid, such as wind or water. The generator allows the speed of the fluid to be increased, concentrating said fluid on the periphery, which results in improved performance and effectiveness.

Wind turbine with channels and roof air exhaust

This wind turbine is enclosed in a housing structure with a bell shaped opening and a stack effect created on the roof. One side of the housing, facing the wind, opens up to receive air. The air that enters the housing is divided into multiple chambers. The chambers and turning vanes guide the air directly to the blades and help in minimizing air turbulence. The blades are angled to receive the maximum amount of the air. The air rotates the blades turning the rotor, converting mechanical rotation into electrical power. There is a horizontal rotor attached to vertical shaft which is used to generate electrical energy. The stack effect on the roof creates a negative air flow aiding in turning the rotor.

Wind turbines augmented with rotating diffusers

Diffuser-augmented wind turbines can include a first diffuser ring arranged to form a turbine rotor cowling, the diffuser being fixed to and rotatable with the turbine rotor about the horizontal axis of the wind turbine. The first diffuser ring may have one or more dynamic, aero-elastic, vortex entrainment devices attached to a trailing edge of the diffuser. The first diffuser ring may include one or more slot gaps arranged within its body, each slot gap creating a channel between the interior and exterior surfaces of the first diffuser ring. In some embodiments the diffuser may optionally further include one or more further diffuser rings, the one or more further diffuser rings being static rings (e.g. non-rotatable about the horizontal axis) or dynamic diffuser rings (e.g. rotatable around the horizontal axis).

A fluid acceleration system includes a housing, a rotational element, a conduit assembly, and a driver. The housing defines an inlet, an outlet, and an interior chamber configured to receive a fluid. The rotational element is disposed within the interior chamber. The rotational element includes a central support and a plurality of blades coupled to the central support. The central support extends between an upper wall and a lower wall of the housing. The conduit assembly is positioned external to the housing. The conduit assembly connects the outlet to the inlet. The driver is positioned to drive the rotational element to accelerate the fluid within the interior chamber such that a portion of the fluid flows out of the outlet, through the conduit assembly, and back into the interior chamber through the inlet.
