Energy generation method and apparatus
09819244 · 2017-11-14 ·

A hollow first housing with a rigid wall and a center of mass located on a portion of the rigid wall to which a weight is attached. When force is applied to tilt the apparatus then the center of mass is raised. When force is discharged, then a rocking motion of the hollow sphere device or housing will seek an equilibrium at the minimum gravitational potential energy. The rocking motion of the first housing activates a circular motion of a pendulum object. Motion of the pendulum object is passed to an electrical generator, which in turn produces electricity. The first housing may be a round circular hollow sphere, a circular cylinder, a cone, a frustrum, or may be configured in other shapes. A sail may be attached to an external surface of the first housing, at a location on the first housing furthest away from and opposite the weight.

The fluid power generator includes: an ascending air current-forming body provided at a rotary shaft; a plurality of spiral blades which are spirally formed along the outer circumferential surface of the ascending air current-forming body; and a generator which generates electricity by rotation of the ascending air current-forming body.

Nonlinear hydrostatic control of a wave energy converter

Increased energy harvesting is realized using a nonlinear buoy geometry for reactive power generation. By exploiting the nonlinear dynamic coupling between the buoy geometry and the potential wideband frequency spectrum of incoming waves in the controller/buoy design, increased power can be captured in comparison to conventional wave energy converter designs. In particular, the reactive power and energy storage system requirements are inherently embedded in the nonlinear buoy geometry, therefore requiring only simple rate-feedback control.

Multistage Vertical Axis Wind Turbine
20230243333 · 2023-08-03 ·

A multistage wind turbine or network of wind turbines with improved and optimized wind-directing, wind-shaping, and wind-power conversion features is disclosed. The shapes of these features directly affect the ability of the multistage wind turbine to use the power of moving air, to spin a rotor and create torque on a rotor shaft to generate electrical, thermal and/or other forms of energy. The wind-power-conversion mechanical efficiency described significantly improves upon previous designs by conversion of wind energy into electrical power at a superior price-to-performance ratio compared with existing alternative energy technologies.

Hydroelectric/hydrokinetic turbine and methods for making and using same

The application relates to unidirectional hydrokinetic turbines having an improved flow acceleration system that uses asymmetrical hydrofoil shapes on some or all of the key components of the turbine. These components that may be hydrofoil shaped include, e.g., the rotor blades (34), the center hub (36), the rotor blade shroud (38), the accelerator shroud (20), annular diffuser(s) (40), the wildlife and debris excluder (10, 18) and the tail rudder (60). The fabrication method designs various components to cooperate in optimizing the extraction of energy, while other components reduce or eliminate turbulence that could negatively affect other component(s).

UNIVERSAL PROPELLER, OPERATING METHOD AND FAVOURED USE
20230287864 · 2023-09-14 ·

A novel universal propeller has a gearwheel arranged on each rotor blade that is directly operatively connected to a reference gearwheel of a timing gear. The timing gear is operatively connected to a hub gear. The hub gear senses and processes an angular velocity ω.sub.n of a rotation of the hub. The reference gearwheel and the gearwheels of the rotor blades of the timing gear are configured that the ratio of an angular velocity ω.sub.r of the reference gearwheel to the angular velocity ω.sub.n of the rotational movement of the hub is as follows: ω.sub.r/ω.sub.n=1±(½)*(S.sub.rot/S.sub.r), where S.sub.rot is a size of the gearwheels and S.sub.r is a size of the reference gearwheel. The present invention is particularly suitable for use in a wind power installation, hydropower installation or an engine of a ship or an aircraft.
