RAM AIR TURBINE FIXED WITHIN AIRCRAFT WITH ENERGY RECOVERY FROM VENTED CABIN AIR
An aircraft system, having: a section of a fuselage surrounding an interior portion of an aircraft; an aperture defined along the section of the fuselage; an inlet scoop at the aperture; an inlet channel extending away from the inlet scoop to the interior portion of the aircraft; a Ram Air Turbine (RAT) connected to the inlet channel, wherein the RAT is fixed within the interior portion of the aircraft; a cabin air vent; and a second channel extending from the cabin air vent to the RAT so that cabin air mixes with an airflow in the inlet channel when flowing into the RAT.
Aircraft Engine
An aircraft engine includes a fuel-cell-based, electrically operated axial-flow fan which, enables optimization of the power-to-weight ratio and can be used as a climate-friendly drive for a civil commercial aircraft. The aircraft engine includes a housing having an inlet and an outlet, an axial-flow fan located next to the inlet in a first housing portion and having at least one rotor, at least one electric motor which is configured to drive the rotor, at least one fuel cell unit configured to supply power to the electric motor, and at least one combustion drive located inside the housing and downstream of the axial-flow fan. The housing is configured with a convergent portion adjoining the first housing portion and a divergent portion adjoining the convergent portion. The combustion drive includes a combustion chamber containing a hydrogen injector located or formed inside the divergent portion.
SELF-POWERED TELEMETRY PACKAGE
A system for providing powered device operation on a rotating mechanism comprises static hardware configured to remain in a fixed position and rotating hardware configured to rotate about a central axis. Power generation circuitry associated with the static hardware and the rotating hardware is configured to generate a DC power signal on the rotating hardware and output the DC power signal. A powered device located on the rotating hardware is configured to receive the DC power signal and perform a powered operation on the rotating hardware.
