Systems and methods for reducing heat exposure of a turbine casing in a gas turbine engine may be provided. The system may include blade track segments. The blade track segments may include a cavity formed at a circumferential end of the blade track segment. The blade track segments may further include an assembly groove configured to provide a clearance for axial insertion of an inter-segment strip seal. An inter-segment strip seal may be axially inserted past the assembly grooves and into the cavity. The inter-segment strip seal may cover a gap between adjacent blade track segments, thus blocking hot, high pressure fluid from contacting the turbine casing.

Gas turbine engine hollow fan blade rib orientation

A fan blade includes first and second portions that are secured to one another and provide a cavity. The first and second portions form an exterior airfoil surface that extends in a radial direction from a root to a tip and in a chord-wise direction from a leading edge to a trailing edge. Radial ribs extend in a radial direction from the root toward the tip and are spaced apart from one another in the chord-wise direction. First and second angled ribs intersect one another at a first apex. The radial ribs intersect at least one of the first and second angled ribs. The first and second angled ribs are at an angle relative to one of the radial ribs. The angle is in a range of 45+/30.

A core element of an investment core for use in a casting process used to produce an airfoil includes an investment core body, an extension connected to and protruding from the investment core body, and a connection portion connected to the investment core body and to the extension. The investment core body comprises a ceramic material. A shape of the extension comprises a tube with a centerline axis passing through a center of the extension. A shape of a cross-section of the extension taken along a plane perpendicular to the extension centerline axis comprises an ellipse. The extension is connected to the investment core body by the connection portion.

Waste-gate valve and turbocharger

A waste-gate valve is for opening and closing a bypass passage which bypasses an exhaust turbine of a turbocharger, and includes: a valve body disposed in the bypass passage; an open-close lever having a first insertion hole into which a valve shaft of the valve body is inserted, and being configured to open and close the bypass passage by moving the valve body; and a washer having a second insertion hole which is positioned closer to a tip of the valve shaft than the first insertion hole and into which the valve shaft is inserted, the washer being fixed to the valve shaft. The washer has a bend portion bended along an outer shape of the open-close lever.

Full-floating bearing and turbocharger including the same

A full-floating bearing for reducing vibration of a shaft of a turbocharger has a central axis and includes an outer surface and an inner surface. The outer surface is configured to face away from the central axis. The inner surface is configured to face the central axis and is radially spaced from the outer surface such that the inner surface is configured to be disposed between the central axis and the outer surface. An aperture is defined between the outer surface and the inner surface and configured to allow lubricant to flow between the outer surface and the inner surface. The inner surface has a surface profile for reducing vibration of the shaft of the turbocharger. The surface profile is defined by the equation Ro=Rb+A Sin(3+).

CONTINUOUS SLANTED CELL SEPTUM

A panel for attenuating noise is disclosed comprising a face skin having a first inner surface, a base skin having a second inner surface, a cellular core connected to and forming a plurality of cells between the face skin and the base skin, wherein the cellular core is defined by a cell structure having a plurality of cell walls extending between the face skin and the base skin defining each of the plurality of cells and a septum disposed within each of the plurality of cells, the septum defining an upper chamber proximate the face skin and a lower chamber proximate the base skin, wherein the face skin comprises a plurality of perforations fully through the face skin and in fluid communication with the upper chamber.

Fan and air conditioner

A fan includes a fan member, a motor that drives to rotate the fan member, and a rotating shaft that is connected to the fan via a vibration prevention member and transmits a turning force of the motor to the fan. The vibration prevention member is an elastic member that connects an inner cylinder made of metal included in the rotating shaft and an outer cylinder made of metal included in the fan member. At least one of an outer circumferential section of the inner cylinder and an inner circumferential section of the outer cylinder is configured in a polygonal shape when viewed from the rotating shaft direction. A turning force received by the vibration prevention member acts as compression stress on an adhesion interface between a vibration prevention material and metal.
