High Speed Centrifugal Pump Lined Seal Housing
20170292527 · 2017-10-12 · ·

A centrifugal pump, and components thereof, operable at high speeds, is described under the present disclosure. A hard polymer sleeve can be applied to certain surfaces of a seal casing within the pump. If the sleeve is applied along surfaces near the center shaft, then the hard polymer will withstand the forces and pressures of the system. The hard polymer might not be used along the outer diameter, farther from the shaft, because velocities are higher the further out one goes. The current disclosure allows for the use of fluoropolymer in the lining sleeve. The benefits of fluoropolymer have been unavailable in high speed centrifugal pumps because the forces are too great on the periphery of the seal casing. However, the lower speeds along the interior, near the shaft, allow fluoropolymer to be used.

Mounting arrangement

A rigid electrical raft is provided to a gas turbine engine via a fusible mount arrangement. The rigid electrical raft may be a part of an electrical system of the gas turbine engine, for example a part of the electrical harness. The fusible mount is arranged to break when a predetermined load is applied. The rigid electrical raft may be attached to a fan case of the engine, and the predetermined load may be that which results from a fan blade being released from the hub. This ensures that the rigid electrical raft is protected from the load.

CENTRIFUGAL ROTARY MACHINE

Provided is the centrifugal rotary machine including: a rotor having a rotary shaft rotating around an axis and impellers rotating together with the rotary shaft; a casing surrounding the rotor from an outer peripheral side; a plurality of diaphragms stacked between the rotor and the casing in a direction of the axis and configured to define a flow channel of a fluid fed under pressure using the impellers; and the restraining members configured to restrain the diaphragms from the outer peripheral side.

Pressure seal with non-metallic wear surfaces

A gas turbine engine has a first component and a second component. The first and second components have a high-pressure chamber on one side and a low pressure chamber on an opposed side. A three sided seal has one side facing each of the first and second components, and a third side facing a third component. At least one non-metallic wear surface is between one of the three sides of the seal and the facing component.

COMPRESSOR ASSEMBLY WITH NONSTICK COATING AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING SAME

A compressor assembly may include a compressor housing and a compressor impeller disposed within the compressor housing. The compressor housing may have an internal aerodynamic surface that defines a circumferentially extending volute, and the compressor impeller may have an external aerodynamic surface that faces toward at least a portion of the internal aerodynamic surface of the compressor housing. A nonstick coating may be formed on the internal aerodynamic surface of the compressor housing or on the external aerodynamic surface of the compressor impeller. The nonstick coating may prevent foreign material introduced into the compressor assembly from collecting on the internal aerodynamic surface of the compressor housing or on the external aerodynamic surface of the compressor impeller.

CUPSEAL FOR COMPRESSOR AND METHOD FOR PREPARING THE SAME
20210388902 · 2021-12-16 ·

The subject application relates to a cupseal for a compressor and method for preparing the same. Systems and methods are disclosed that include providing an annular seal for a compressor. The annular seal includes a substantially planar first portion, a first angled portion extending at an angle from the substantially planar first portion, and a second angled portion extending radially at an angle from the first angled portion. The annular seal is formed from a fluorinated polymer and includes at least one additive or filler. The annular seal exhibits reduced wear and an increased lifespan.

POWER TRANSMISSION SYSTEM AND GAS TURBINE ENGINE COMPRISING THE SAME

A power transmission system includes a shaft, a stator disposed within the shaft and substantially concentric with the shaft; and at least one supporting element positioned between the stator and the shaft and configured to support the shaft on the stator to reduce a vibration of the shaft and allow the shaft to rotate relative to the stator. A gas turbine engine including the power transmission system is also described.

Compressor rotor having seal elements

A compressor rotor for turbomachinery, such as a compressor, is provided. Disclosed embodiments can benefit from seal elements that may be arranged to inhibit passage onto respective hirth couplings of process fluid being processed by the compressor. A seal element may be affixed to adjacent rotor components (e.g., adjacent impeller bodies) by way of a slip or interference fit connection to one of the adjacent components and may be affixed to the other adjacent rotor component by way of a elastically flexible frustoconical inner surface of the seal element that permits the seal element to be placed in a spring-loaded condition, which generates a biasing force to circumferentially clamp onto a frustoconical outer surface of the other adjacent rotor component. This arrangement is conducive to user-friendly assembly/disassembly of the seal elements with respect to the adjacent rotor components.

Fan motor and method of manufacturing the same

A fan motor includes: a motor housing; a rotating shaft; a rotor; a stator disposed outside the rotor; an impeller having at least one blade and a hub; and an impeller cover surrounding an outer circumference of the impeller and defining an air suction inlet. The impeller cover includes: a shroud having an inner diameter that expands in an air flow direction; and a non-metallic coating layer coated on an inner circumferential surface of the shroud and having a lower strength than the blade. The non-metallic coating layer includes: a first area having a first thickness; a second area having a second thickness thinner than the first thickness and defining a stepped portion with the first area, thereby minimizing leakage flow caused by the pressure difference from a pressure-side surface to a suction-side surface of the blade to reduce flow path loss and improving efficiency of the fan motor.
