The present invention relates to an energy storage apparatus (10) comprising a compressible spring (11) wound around a main shaft (28) extending between a releasing means (20) and a compressing means (21), said compressing means (21) and releasing means (20) being in a fixedly attached relationship with said compressible spring (11) at two ends of the main shaft (28), said compressing means (21) and releasing means (20) being rotatable at different speeds so as to compress the compressible spring (11) at one longitudinal side of the main shaft (28) while simultaneously releasing the compressible spring (11) at the other longitudinal side, said energy storage apparatus (10) further comprising a hydraulic jack (26) continuously driven by a hydraulic pump (13) in the manner that said compressible spring (11) is compressed by said compressing means (21) to which rotational movement is imparted by said hydraulic jack (26).

The sealing element arranged to, in a first position, close the passage, and in a second position, open the passage to allow gas to flow between the gas inlet channel and the gas outlet channel through the passage. The invention also relates to a method for controlling flow of a pressurised gas with a shut-off valve and a method for activating an emergency stop of a shut-off valve.

A system including a phaser with a first lock pin and a second lock pin in the rotor assembly. The first and second locks pins having a locked position where they engage a recess in the housing assembly and an unlocked position in which they do not engage the housing assembly. The first lock pin locks the rotor assembly to the housing assembly when the phaser is in or near an intermediate phase angle position. The second lock pin locks the rotor assembly to the housing assembly when the phaser is at a full retard position. Alternatively, the second lock pin can lock the rotor assembly to the housing assembly when the phaser is at a full advance position. The second lock pin is spring biased towards the unlocked position and is pressurized to engage and move to the locked position by either the advance or the retard chamber.

A lockable actuator includes: a body; a screw for pivoting relative to the body; a nut engaged on the screw so as to move along the screw between an over-retracted first position and a deployed second position on opposite sides of a retracted third position; a sleeve constrained to rotate with the screw and slidably mounted thereon in order to be moved by the nut; and an obstacle secured to the sleeve and a pawl capable of passing collectively between an active state and an inactive state, the pawl and the obstacle being arranged in such a manner that the pawl in its active state can co-operate with the obstacle only after the nut has been moved through a predetermined distance from its third position towards its second position.

The actuator pivots the lever arm about a lever axis. The lever arm contacts the vertical member and controls the rate of radial motion of the side panel about the panel axis. A control unit is configured to regulate the operation of the actuator device.
