RAPID MOUNT WALL ANCHORING SYSTEM INCORPORATING A POWER FEED THROUGH CONNECTOR ASSEMBLY
A rapid mount wall anchoring/power delivery system to both mount electrical devices and deliver power to the devices through a series of mateable connectors. The wall anchoring system includes a rigid frame with a lip having an opening therein, a rearward extending sidewall surrounding the opening, rearwardly extending guide members extending rearward from the sidewalls, a rigid mounting plate within the opening, and means to secure the wall anchoring system to a wall. The rigid mounting plate is snap fit into the opening of the rigid frame and the mounting plate includes a second opening for the mateable connection of a power delivery connector assembly. The connector assembly includes at one end a generally L shaped connector that is preferably overmolded, the connector includes gripping means to facilitate mounting of the connector to the mounting plate second opening. The connector includes an end lip with a width wide enough to ensure a tight fit that is still capable of slidable engagement into the mounting plate second opening.
Fixing device
This invention relates to a fixing device for holding a fastener in a hole in a structure comprising an actuating part configured to engage with said fastener in use and a plurality of arms extending from and hingedly connected to the actuating part, each arm comprising a distal portion and an anchor portion between the distal portion and the actuating part. The arms are an insertion configuration formed or formable by moving the arms from an initial configuration in which the arms are splayed to the insertion configuration in which the arms are substantially aligned so that the distal portions define an axial passage and, in use, the fastener extends through the axial passage to engage with the actuating part, and cooperation of the fastener with the actuating part moves the actuating part in an axial direction towards the distal portions to cause a part of each of the anchor portions to move in a radially outward direction with respect to the axial passage to anchor the fixing device in said hole.
DEVICE AND METHOD FOR SURFACE MOUNTING OF ELECTRICAL DEVICES
Inventive methods and apparatus for providing a surface mounted electrical device whereby at least one stem is employed which provides both an electrical connection to a power source as well as the means for mounting. One example of such an electrical device is a ceiling surface-mount luminaire that gives the appearance of a recessed luminaire without requiring the material and cost of a recessed housing. The disclosed invention reduces product cost and increases speed and ease of installation.
TOGGLE FIXING AND METHOD OF MOUNTING A TOGGLE FIXING
The invention relates to a toggle fixing for fixing an article to a thin-walled building component. The toggle fixing comprises a crosspiece and a strip. The crosspiece is elongated, with an opening for receiving a screw. The strip for holding and positioning the crosspiece is joined to the crosspiece and extends along a strip longitudinal axis (L.sub.3). According to the invention, there is arranged on the strip an elongated grip element which projects from the strip at an angle with respect to the strip longitudinal axis (L.sub.3).
WALL MOUNTED TOGGLE HOOK
A convertible anchor comprises a fixture for holding an article to a friable wall and an anchoring mechanism extending from the fixture and adapted when rotated to engagingly extend into the wall for securing the fixture thereto. The fixture is selectively separable via frangible connection elements from the anchoring mechanism for allowing the fixture to be used alone with an appropriate fastener suitable for installing the fixture to a rigid structure, such as wooden components. The frangible elements are typically provided between the fixture and a proximal end of the anchoring mechanism. The nature of the vertical support to which the anchor is to be mounted is thus first determined and then, for a friable wall, the anchor is installed thereto using the anchoring mechanism or, for a more solid support, the fixture is separated from the anchoring mechanism and installed to the solid support via an appropriate fastener.
TOGGLE FIXING
The invention relates to a toggle fixing for fixing an article to a thin-walled building component, having a crosspiece, which has an opening for receiving a screw, and having a strip which is connected to the crosspiece and serves for holding and positioning the crosspiece during mounting. In order also to be able to use such a fixing in a solid building material, the invention proposes that the crosspiece have a screw channel parallel to the crosspiece longitudinal axis (L.sub.1).
Drywall brace and system and method for attachment of fixtures to drywall using the same
A drywall brace and system or method for using the same can include a body including a length L, a width W, and a thickness T. The body can include a first surface defined by a first plane comprising the length L and width W, a second surface opposite the first surface, and a first end sharpened to a point adapted to form an opening through drywall. A mounting aperture can be formed completely through a central portion of the body and be sized to receive a threaded bolt for mounting a device. A first portion and second portion of flexible line can be coupled within 3 centimeters (cm) of the mounting aperture. An adhesive can be coupled to the first surface of the body and covered with a removable adhesive protective layer. A cleaning pad can be coupled to the second surface of the body.
Non-Rotating Toggle Fastener
A non-rotating toggle fastener comprises a tubular body; a slidable interior nut; pivoting, spring activated, locking arms; and an escutcheon at the opposing end from the locking arms. The nut has a threaded interior over which a plastic insert is placed. The escutcheon has a flat proximal area extending beyond the perimeter of the body and threaded distal section that is recessed into the interior of the body. Preferably the body is a polygon to prevent rotation. Triangular shaped fins can extend on the exterior of the body from the escutcheon to the end of the body to prevent rotation. The pressure of threading a screw through the insert simultaneously slides the nut to a position adjacent the locking arms prior to the screw engaging the threaded interior perimeter. The toggle fastener can be manufactured from metal or a combination metal and plastic or composite.
SELF-DRILLING EXPANDABLE ANCHOR INSTALLATION TOOL AND METHODS OF USE THEREOF
A self-drilling expandable anchor installation tool operable with a self-drilling expandable anchor.
WALL FIXING DEVICE
A fixing device for attaching a fastener to a wall, the device comprising a body having a fastener receiving aperture defined therein; and at least two arms pivotably mounted to the body between: a retracted position in which the device is insertable into an opening in a wall from a first side of the wall; and, an extended position in which the arms bear against a second side of the wall to inhibit removal of the device from the opening; in which the arms are configured to be retained in the extended position by a fastener inserted in the fastener-receiving aperture.
