NUT LOCKING FEATURE
An assembly comprising: a nut having a cylindrical body with a threaded external surface, an axially extending interior tool socket, and a radially outwardly extending flange at a proximal end of the cylindrical body; a first component including a hollow cylindrical tube with a connector end having a radially inwardly extending shoulder, the radially inwardly extending shoulder abutting the radially outwardly extending flange of the nut in an assembled position; and a second component including an annular hub with a threaded internal surface matching the threaded external surface of the nut, and an annular mounting surface abutting the connector end of the propeller shaft in the assembled position.
RAIL BOLT LOCKING DEVICE
A rail bolt nut locking device comprising a member having a first planar section at one end of the member, and a second planar section at an opposite end of the member, a central, curved intermediate section located between the planar sections. The first and second planar sections are substantially flat but include openings which are adapted to be friction fitted around the nuts of rail bolts which have been used to hold a frog or rail joint bar in place on a railway rail. The intermediate section is preferably made of a resilient plastic, to allow relative movement of the first and second planar sections. The planar sections, when fitted to the rail bolts, prevents loosening of the rail bolt nuts, and the curved intermediate section can act to prevent the rail bolts from backing out of the openings provided for the rail bolts. A device and method to lock the rail bolts in place is provided.
Thermal barrier washer
An attachment mechanism for a gas turbine engine component includes an elongated body having at least first and second ends. A first attachment feature is formed at the first end. A second attachment feature is formed at the second end. The first and second attachment features define attachment points configured to attach a first gas turbine engine component to a second gas turbine engine component. A fan section for a gas turbine engine and a gas turbine engine are also disclosed.
FIXING DEVICE FOR FASTENERS HAVING A POLYGONAL HEAD
A fixing device for fasteners having a polygonal head for the detachable connection of flanges which can be connected to one another and clamped against one another by a screw connection includes a chain which encompasses at least some regions of the lateral surface of the polygonal heads in a form-fitting manner and inhibits the rotation of said fasteners. The chain comprises a plurality of spaced members, each having at least one receptacle, the inner profile of which corresponds to the lateral surface of the polygonal heads. The chain comprises at least one releasable tensioner for detachably joining two ends of the chain. A flexible securing means is provided, which extends circumferentially along the chain, wherein at least two ends of the securing means can be releasably connected to one another.
Rotating eye bolt assembly with lock mechanism
A rotating eye bolt assembly with lock mechanism. The assembly includes a threaded bolt having a multi-sided head. A lifting bail includes a pair of opposed legs, a track and a central opening through the track. A bushing having an upstanding cylindrical lip is received in the lifting bail central opening. A lock plate is slidable on the track with the lock plate having an upstanding shoulder engageable with the bolt head. The lock plate is movable between a locked position for installation and removal of the assembly and an unlocked position for use of the assembly.
FASTENER LOCKING
A locking apparatus for locking the rotational position of a fastener component which is rotatable about an axis relative to a structure. The locking apparatus includes a collar and a rigid arm. The collar is configured to engage with the fastener component such that relative rotation of the collar and the fastener component is substantially prevented. The arm has a first end configured to engage with the collar such that rotation of the collar relative to the first end is substantially prevented, and a second end configured to engage with the structure such that rotation of the arm relative to the structure is substantially prevented. The collar has an inner surface having a first finite order of rotational symmetry about the axis, and an outer surface having a second, larger, finite order of rotational symmetry about the axis.
Loose wheel nut indicator
Apparatus for visually indicating a loose wheel nut on a motor vehicle has a first ring for engaging a first wheel nut so as to be rotatable therewith and a second ring for engaging a second wheel nut adjacent to the first wheel nut so as to be rotatable therewith. The first ring has a first pointer for indicating a start position of the first ring, and the second ring has a second pointer for indicating a start position of the second ring. A resiliently flexible elongate member interconnects the first and second rings. The elongate member is configured to curve in at least two directions and has a first end portion connected to the first ring and an opposed second end portion connected to the second ring. In use, any loosening rotation of the first wheel nut will cause the first ring and is pointer to rotate therewith, thereby providing a visual indication of a loosening of the first wheel nut.
Self-anti-rotating dual lock washer
A disclosed lock washer includes a first opening spaced apart from a second opening for receiving fasteners and preventing rotation. A first set of tabs is associated with the first opening and a second set of tabs is associated with the second opening. Each of the first and second set of tabs are bendable to a lock position preventing rotation of a fastener received within a corresponding one of the first opening and the second opening.
TIE BOLT RETENTION
A tie bolt retention assembly includes a retention ring configured to contact a tie bolt head of a tie bolt; a retention washer configured to be disposed between the tie bolt head and a wheel section of a wheel assembly; and a retainer configured to engage with the retention washer; wherein the retention washer and the retainer are configured to secure the retention ring to the tie bolt head.
Device and method for retaining a nut
A retaining device is disclosed for retaining a wheel fastener. The retaining device comprises a main body attachable to a wheel. An engagement portion is arranged to engage with the wheel fastener, the engagement portion comprising at least one opening for, in use, permitting a wheel fastener to extend through the opening, wherein the engagement portion is moveable with respect to the main body. A stop mechanism is co operable with the engagement portion, such that the engagement portion is moveable in a first direction so as to permit the wheel fastener to become secured and the engagement portion is prohibited from moving in a second direction by the stop mechanism so as to restrict movement of the wheel fastener in the second direction.
