Provided in a safety device for bolt connections, including two or more washers with a bore for receiving a bolt, with each washer including an eye, at least one cable to be passed through the eyes and at least one elastic means secured or to be secured to at least one end of the cable.

Threaded fastener locking system

Fasteners such as bolts or nuts are locked by a ring and associated keys. The ring typically has a series of holes with the fasteners passing through these holes in the ring. The ring has an outer surface with studs extending upward therefrom. Typically one key for each fastener is placed adjacent to the ring after the fasteners are tightened against the ring in each hole of the ring. The key has a head opening which fits over a head of the fastener and keeps the fastener from rotating. The key also has a bore which fits upon the stud, with the stud preventing key rotation, and the key in turn preventing fastener rotation. A retainer such as a lock nut on a threaded stud or a snap ring in a grooved stud hold the key to the ring and keep the ring in position locking the fasteners.

One Sided Access for Blade Pin

A coupling system is described that allows users to avoid having to manipulate two tools at the same time while reaching around to both sides of the coupled components. A lock plate can rest above one or more holes passing through (and for joining together) the components. A blade pin with a partially hollow cylinder can be inserted through holes in the lock plate and at least partially through the holes. A blade bolt can be inserted into the holes and the cylinder from the other side. The blade bolt can comprise an o-ring that engages with an inner diameter of a portion of the cylinder and holds the parts together with an interference fit. A portion of the bolt can extend through the top of the holes, and a washer and nut can be attached to or about a threaded portion of the bolt. During each state of installation a user will not have to reach to both sides of the system while manipulating multiple tools.

Nut retention system

A nut retention arrangement may comprise a first nut comprising a first threaded aperture and a first retention aperture, a second nut comprising a second threaded aperture and a second retention aperture, and a tensile member having a first end extending through the first retention aperture and a second end extending through the second retention aperture such that rotation in a direction toward loosening of either the first nut or the second nut causes rotation in a direction toward tightening of the other of the first nut or the second nut.

Wire Twisting System and Method

A novel head device generally consisting of at least one aperture that is capable of excepting different sizes of safety wire, at least one cam-locking lever, which may incorporate a spring return mechanism, is disclosed. The body may be rotated by a mechanical means which twists the safety wire. In preferred embodiment, the various elements of the safety wire twister device are each configured with means of limiting torque or twists of safety wire to eliminate possibility of over torqueing or twisting of safety wire.

Loose wheel nut indicator and restrainer

An apparatus (10) for visually indicating a loose wheel nut (57) on a wheel of a motor vehicle has a plurality of wheel nut engaging members (12, 14, 16, 18, 20). Each wheel nut engaging member is rotatable with a respective wheel nut to which it is engaged and has a pointer (26) for indicating a start position of the wheel nut engaging member. Any two adjacent wheel nut engaging members of the plurality are interconnected by an elongate member (28) which is resiliently flexible so as to define an endless configuration of spaced apart but interconnected wheel nut engaging members. In use, any loosening rotation of a first wheel nut (57) will cause the engaging member (12) which engages that wheel nut and its pointer (26) to rotate therewith, thereby providing a visual indication of a loosening of that wheel nut.

Locking tab-washer

A locking tab washer for rotatably locking a bolt fastened to a component in an aircraft engine has a body with an opening and at least four locking tabs positioned about the opening and circumferentially spaced apart from one another at integer multiples of a common angle relative to the center of the opening. The locking tabs are bendable towards to rotatably lock the bolt. The locking tab washer also has a retaining feature positioned about the opening and operable to rotatably retain the locking tab washer to the component.

A connection system includes two connecting elements each having a respective connecting flange on which a plurality of coupling elements are arranged along a peripheral direction and which has a substantially round external profile; and a coupling belt, on which a plurality of opposing coupling elements are arranged which are configured to form a positive-locking connection with the coupling elements of the two connecting elements for the mutual rotation-proof fixing of the two connecting elements.

Lock washer

A lock washer for releasably locking a fastener to an object is provided. The washer includes a body defining a bore configured for alignment with a bore disposed in the object. The bores are configured to receive a shank of the fastener and are disposed about a center axis along which the fastener extends. The washer further includes one or more fingers each having a first end coupled to the body and a second end configured to selectively engage a flat on either a head of the fastener or a nut. The finger is movable between a disengaged position wherein the second end of the finger is configured for disengagement from the flat and an engaged position wherein the second end of the finger is configured for engagement with the flat. The finger is biased towards the engaged position.

Splice joint component and associated nut capture arrangement

A splice component for tubular members includes a splice plate having a linear arrangement of spaced apart openings extending along a length of the splice plate, and a plurality of nuts aligned with the splice plate openings and loosely retained in place by a nut capture arrangement. The nut capture arrangement is formed at least in part by an elongated U-shaped cover plate having spaced apart side support legs on opposite sides of the linear arrangement openings, and a bridging part extending between the spaced apart side support legs and over the linear arrangement of openings. At least one elongated retaining plate extends between and is fixed to the spaced apart side support legs.
