The tubular member is folded over itself to form an upstanding wall with the first end adjacent to the second end, an intermediate portion of the tubular member spaced from the first and second ends, a portion first surface facing outward and another portion of the first surface facing inward to define an interior of the pet bed, and portions of the second surface facing another each other.

A cover is formed from a pliant material and may be configured to be releasably attached to the pet bed. A pet bed is disclosed that includes a bolster and removable mattress portion. The bolster may be formed from a foam cushion, a fiber-filled cushion, a lower bolster cover, and an upper bolster cover. The upper bolster cover may comprise an upper and lower outer member such that the lower outer member connects to the lower bolster cover and separates the foam cushion from the fiber-filled cushion. The upper outer member of the upper bolster cover may cover the foam cushion.

A multi-layer modular pet bed includes a foldable outer layer, a folder inner layer, and an attachment means for securing the layers together in order to form a pet bed. The foldable inner layer has a slightly smaller perimeter than the foldable outer layer such that the foldable inner layer sits just within the foldable outer layer. When ready to wash, a user simply opens and unfolds the foldable outer layer to convert the bed into a throw blanket sized unit for ease in cleaning. Optionally, a protective layer may be added, either on top of the foldable outer layer or encompassing the entire outer layer when the modular pet bed is in its folded configuration. Additional cushioning material may be added to any or all layers, in some embodiments.
