Fastening element and fastening assembly
09845821 · 2017-12-19 · ·

A fastening assembly includes a fastening element extending along a central axis between a first and a second end. The fastening element includes a head section extending from the second end along the central axis and engageable by a tool, such as a hexagonal head. A protruding cylindrically shaped section has a smaller diameter than the head section. A flanged section is arranged between the head section and the protruding cylindrically shaped section. The fastening element on the cylindrically shaped section includes an engaging section. A first portion of the engaging section is positioned at a distance from the surface of the flanged section facing the first end, such that a locking washer will be stopped from reaching the surface of the flanged section if introduced on the cylindrically shaped section with its smaller central diameter in the direction of the engaging section.

A fastener with a locking mechanism includes an elongated bolt member with threaded segment defining a banking feature and generally planar surfaces, a nut member, a washer member, and a lock member. The nut member has a threaded bore for cooperating with the threaded segment of the bolt member and a peripheral edge with a flat side defining an axial slot. The washer member has a central bore with a banking portion that complements the banking feature of the bolt member such that, when the threaded segment is inserted in the central bore, the washer member moves axially and is rotatably fixed relative to the bolt member. The washer member has an axially projecting circumferential wall with radially inward facing engagement teeth for intermeshing with teeth of the lock member. The lock member has a spring finger upstanding from the annular body that is received in the axial of the nut member for fixing the lock member in rotation relative the nut member.

In a securing element for connecting two parts, in particular for a screw connection, the securing element is ring-shaped. The securing element has an outer profile along the outer diameter and an inner profile along the inner diameter. The outer profile and the inner profile are both formed by a plurality of profile units. The number of profile units of the outer profile and the number of profile units of the inner profile correspond to the number of graduation marks at different scales according to the principle of a vernier scale, the number of profile units of the outer profile differing by at least 1 from the number of profile units of the inner profile. In precisely one position, a profile unit of the outer profile is exactly opposite a profile unit of the inner profile.

A threaded element (1) is designed as a cold extrusion part made of metal and has a longitudinal center axis (L). The threaded element has a thread (5) having a thread pitch angle. The threaded element (1) can be screwed to a threaded connection partner having a mating thread by rotation in a tightening circumferential direction (F) and can thereby be moved in an axial movement direction (T) oriented along the longitudinal center axis (L) onto a support portion (17) of the threaded connection partner or of a component separate therefrom. The threaded element (1) has a ring portion (8) for support on the support portion (17). An anchor (9) for interlocking anchoring in the support portion (17) to establish an interlocking connection is formed on the ring portion (8). The anchor has a plurality of forming portions (10), spaced apart in the tightening circumferential direction (F) and are preferably uniformly distributed in the circumferential direction and which each comprise a lower forming edge (11) extending in the axial movement direction (T). Ahead of each forming portion (10) in the tightening circumferential direction (F), there is a recess (12) for receiving support portion material (18) deformed by means of the forming portion (10) in question.
