A brake rotor for a bicycle has a brake body formed of a first material and a cooling element with a cooling body, at least part of which is formed of a second material that has a higher thermal conductivity than the first material. The brake body has a generally annular shape with a first axial contact surface. The cooling body is coupled to the first axial contact surface. The cooling body may be in contact with the first axial contact surface around the brake body for a majority of a circumference of the heat dissipation region. The cooling body may be attached to or be an integral part of a carrier coupled to the brake body.

Multi-plane brake rotor hat holes and method of making the same

A method of forming a rotor by forming a mold by forming a first mold cake, a second mold cake, and a core that fits between the first and the second mold cake. The method includes a step of locating the core between the first mold cake and the second mold cake. The core includes a body, one or more projections extending from the body for forming one or more holes in a base portion of the rotor, and one or more projections extending from the body for forming one or more holes in a bat wall of the rotor.

SCALLOPED AIRCRAFT WHEEL ROTOR DRIVE BAR ATTACHMENT BOSS FOR REDUCED THERMAL CONDUCTION

A rotor drive bar for use in a brake system, according to various embodiments, includes a drive bar portion configured to be coupled to at least one rotor of the brake system. The rotor drive bar also includes an attachment boss configured to be coupled to an attachment platform of a wheel. The attachment boss has a boss face that faces the attachment platform and at least partially defines a pocket for reducing thermal transfer from the rotor drive bar to the wheel.

BRAKE DISC AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING THE SAME

The present disclosure relates to a brake disc including a braking part having a circular plate shape having a hollow portion and a plurality of coupling portions protruding and extending from an inner diameter surface thereof, and a hat part disposed in the hollow portion and having a plurality of insertion portions protruding laterally, in which the plurality of coupling portions is respectively coupled to the plurality of insertion portions, and the coupling portion of the braking part and the insertion portion of the hat part are joined to only one of an outboard portion or an inboard portion of the braking part. According to the present disclosure, it is possible to reduce noise occurring at a position at which the hat part and the braking part are coupled to each other and improve cooling performance.

Ventilated brake rotors

A brake rotor for attachment to a wheel of a vehicle may include outer and inner friction members, and a plurality of fin elements connecting the outer friction member to the inner friction member. Each fin element may include radially spaced first and second pillars that are connected by a single bridge portion to define an opening in the fin element. The opening may also be defined by an interior surface of one of the annular disks. The opening may be tapered along an entire length between a first pillar and a second pillar. A width of each fin element may taper toward a center of the brake rotor.

BIFURCATED HEAT SHIELD ATTACHMENT BRACKET

A heat shield assembly for a wheel is disclosed. The heat shield assembly includes a heat shield having a pair of heat shield ends. A bifurcated seam mounting bracket includes a first bracket section that is fixed relative one of the heat shield ends, along with a second bracket section that is fixed relative to the other of the heat shield ends. The second bracket section may be directly mounted to the heat shield. A seam clasp section may be directly mounted to both the heat shield and the first bracket section such that the first bracket section is indirectly mounted to the heat shield.
