Brake pad monitor with conductivity measurement
A brake pad apparatus having a conductivity sensor disposed thereon operable to generate conductivity data corresponding to the remaining thickness of the brake pad's friction lining. The conductivity data may be analyzed by a processor to estimate the remaining life of the brake pad for purposes of maintenance, diagnostic, or repair. The conductivity sensor may utilize a conductivity probe that comprises one or more insulation coatings to insulate conductive material from the friction lining. The brake pad apparatus may further comprise a wireless transmitter to transmit data to a processor external to the brake pad apparatus.
Vehicle brake shoe key
A vehicle spring type brake shoe key for connecting a brake shoe to a brake head, wherein the brake shoe key includes a body or shank and a head integrally formed with the body or shank, and wherein the key has a reduced mass head, an alternative configuration head, a surface treatment, or two or more of these modifications that reduces the likelihood that the head will weaken and/or break off the body of the brake shoe key,
BRAKE ROTOR WITH WORKING SURFACE INSERTS
A brake rotor assembly can include a structural part having a receiving surface and at least one friction surface parts having a contact surface. The friction surface part can be fixably attached to the receiving surface of the structural part such that the contact surface faces away from the receiving surface of the structural surface to form at least part of an annular braking surface arranged concentrically around an axis of rotation of the structural part.
Elastic adjustable brake pad for use in train
An elastic adjustable brake pad for use in a train, comprising a brake pad frame (1) provided with a fourth through hole (18), a brake block assembly, and a spiral compression spring (6); the brake block assembly comprises a brake block (16), a rivet (4), a Belleville spring (5), and a rivet sleeve (3), the brake block (16) comprising a friction block (10) and a static sheet steel back (7) fixedly mounted together, the rivet (4) passing through the brake block (16) and being sleeved in turn by the Belleville spring (5) and the rivet sleeve (3); the fourth through hole (18) is a stepped counterbore, and the rivet (4) in the brake block (16) penetrates the fourth through hole (18) and extends outward therefrom, the spiral compression spring (6) being sleeved over the outside of the rivet sleeve (3), and the outer side of one end of the rivet sleeve (3) being provided with a clamping groove clamped to an elastic retainer ring (2), one end of the spiral compression spring (6) abutting a step on which a secondary counterbore (20) is located, and the other end thereof abutting the lower end face of the elastic retainer ring (2); a plurality of anti-rotation pins are arranged between the static sheet steel back (7) and the brake pad frame (1). The present brake pad has the advantages of automatically adjusting the brake clearance, ensuring the friction area at all times, improving brake efficiency, extending service life, and low manufacturing costs.
WEAR LINER WITH INTEGRATED TORQUE RIB
A friction disk of a braking system may include a friction disk core and a first wear liner. The friction disk core has a first surface and defines a first channel extending radially across the first surface, according to various embodiments. The first wear liner is coupled to the first surface of the friction disk core and includes a first wear surface and a first non-wear surface, according to various embodiments. The first wear liner further includes a first rib protruding from and extending radially across the first non-wear surface of the first wear liner, according to various embodiments. In an installed state, the first rib is received within the first channel, according to various embodiments.
Brake lining for a railway vehicle and disc brake equipped with the same
A brake lining includes friction structures, back boards fastened to respective the friction structures, a base plate supporting the friction structures. Each of the friction structures includes two adjacent friction portions with a groove formed in the front surface in between, and a thin portion with a smaller thickness than thicknesses of the friction portions, the thin portion located in a position corresponding to the groove. Each of the friction structures is supported by the base plate on two support points located in the two friction portions respectively. The thin portion has a constant length, the length being equal to a maximum width of the friction portions and satisfying a condition that L/D is equal to or greater than 1.1, where D denotes the length of the thin portion and L denotes a distance between the two support points located in the friction portions.
BRAKE LINING FOR A RAILWAY VEHICLE AND DISK BRAKE EQUIPPED WITH THE SAME
A brake lining is provided that is to be pressed against a sliding surface of a brake disk fastened to a wheel or an axle of a railway vehicle. The brake lining includes: a plurality of friction members arranged to be spaced from each other, each of the friction members having a front surface that is to face the sliding surface; a back board fastened to a back surface of each of the friction members; and a base plate supporting each friction member at a region including a center portion of the respective friction members. Two friction members are taken as a pair, and the back board that is fastened to the pair of friction members is a one-piece member, and a width of the back board at a space between the friction members of the pair of friction members is greater than a width of the friction member.
