The reel body has a first side plate, a second side plate, and a connecting portion. The first side plate includes a circular portion having a circular shape, and a bulging portion bulging forward and downward from the circular portion. The second side plate is circular and disposed apart from the first side plate. The connecting portion connects the first side plate and the second side plate. The handle is rotatably mounted on the first side plate. A first central axis of the circular portion of the first side plate is offset forward and downward from a second central axis of the second side plate.

A dual-bearing reel includes a reel body, a spool shaft, a pinion gear, a collar member, a bearing, and a sealing member. The reel body includes a bearing housing. The pinion gear is rotatable about the spool shaft. The collar member is mounted on an outer peripheral surface of the pinion gear. The collar member has a large-diameter portion disposed adjacent to a tooth portion of the pinion gear in a shaft direction, and a small-diameter portion having a diameter smaller than the outer diameter of the large-diameter portion. The bearing is housed in the bearing housing and rotatably supports the pinion gear using the collar member. The sealing member is an annular member disposed in contact with the inner peripheral surface of the bearing housing and the outer peripheral surface of the large-diameter portion of the collar member.

A dual-bearing reel includes a reel body, a spool shaft, a rolling bearing, and an elastic element. The spool shaft is rotatable with respect to the reel body. The rolling bearing has an outer diameter of 8 mm or less and supports the spool shaft. The rolling bearing includes an outer ring having a holding groove in an outer peripheral surface thereof, an inner ring connected to the spool shaft so as to be integrally rotatable, and a rolling element disposed between the outer ring and the inner ring. The elastic element has an annular shape and is held in the holding groove. The holding groove is located in a position that does not overlap with the rolling element in a radial direction of the spool shaft. The outer ring has a minimum thickness that is 10% or more of the outer diameter of the rolling bearing.

A dual-bearing reel includes a reel body, a spool shaft, a pinion gear, a collar member, a bearing, and a sealing member. The reel body includes a bearing housing. The pinion gear is rotatable about the spool shaft. The collar member is mounted on an outer peripheral surface of the pinion gear. The collar member has a large-diameter portion disposed adjacent to a tooth portion of the pinion gear in a shaft direction, and a small-diameter portion having a diameter smaller than the outer diameter of the large-diameter portion. The bearing is housed in the bearing housing and rotatably supports the pinion gear using the collar member. The sealing member is an annular member disposed in contact with the inner peripheral surface of the bearing housing and the outer peripheral surface of the large-diameter portion of the collar member.

A dual-bearing reel includes a reel body, a spool, a handle, and a spool shaft. The reel body has a first side plate having a first opening that opens in an axial direction of the spool shaft and through which the spool can pass, a second side plate that faces the first side plate, and a second side cover that is mounted on the second side plate. The spool has a bobbin trunk and a second flange. The handle is rotatably provided on the first side plate side of the reel body. The second side plate has a second opening that opens in the axial direction and a fixing portion for mounting a second side cover member, the fixing portion being provided on a peripheral edge of the second opening and at a position overlapping the second flange as viewed in the axial direction.

A clutch operation unit of a dual-bearing reel is attached to a clutch lever extending in a left-right direction parallel to a rotational axis direction of a spool and for moving in an up-down direction with respect to the spool. The clutch operation unit has a first member that is to be operated by a user, and a second member that is combined with the first member to sandwich the clutch lever therebetween in the up-down direction.

A fishing reel waterproof structure prevents water intrusion into a bearing member that supports an end of a handle shaft to make the end of the handle shaft rotatable respective to a reel body. The fishing reel waterproof structure includes a flange part, a fixation plate, a seal member and a water stop part. The flange part is on the handle shaft in a vicinity of the end of the handle shaft. The fixation plate restricts axial movement of the bearing member. The fixation plate has an annular shape and is fixed to the reel body. An inner peripheral part of the fixation plate is disposed between the flange part and the bearing member to contact a lateral surface of the bearing member. The seal member seals between the reel body and the fixation plate. The water stop part prevents water intrusion between the flange part and the fixation plate.
