Ant bait stations with attractant vector compartment and easy opening

An ant bait station is formed as a stick pack having multiple compartments, wherein each of the compartments contain a bait for a target ant species, and includes a plurality of apertures to the respective compartments. Some or all of the baits may contain a pesticide, for example a borate. In at least one of the compartments containing a pesticide, the apertures are large enough to permit the target ants to enter and exit. In some embodiment a compartment contains a bait without a pesticide. This may improve performance if the non-pesticidal bait attracts ants to the trap, and the lack of pesticidal component extends the life of the attractant. The compartment containing the bait without a pesticide may have apertures that are too small to permit the ants from entering and exiting.

Autodissemination of an insect-growth regulator for insect management

The described invention provides a gel formulation of a composition comprising at least one insecticide in an amount effective to control an insect larval population, an apparatus for autodissmenination of an insecticide for insect management containing (1) a reservoir (2) a transfer plate and cover, and (3) a mesh component, a method and a system for autodissemination for effectively controlling an insect larval population. Also disclosed is an improvided biphasic autodissemination station for control of undesirable insect populations.

The present disclosure provides for a composition for attracting bed bugs that includes one or more of methyl diethanolamine (MDEA), monoethanolamine (MEA), diethanolamine (DEA), triethanolamine (TEA), and dimethyl trisulfide (DMTS); a carrier; and optionally one or more amides selected from oleamide, octanamide, nonanamide, and laurylamide; urea, biuret, or triuret; and one or more aliphatic fatty acids. The present disclosure further provides for a method for treating an article by applying the composition to the article, where the article comprises a device for trapping or detecting bed bugs or a device for treating a bed bug infestation.

Insect bait stake
12029209 · 2024-07-09 · ·

An insect bait stake comprises a container defining an internal cavity adapted to hold a quantity of liquid bait. The container includes a first housing defining a first portion of the internal cavity, a second housing attached to the first housing and defining a second portion of the internal cavity, and a tab portion adapted to be removed for exposing the internal cavity to the exterior environment. A first anti-crushing element of the container is arranged within the internal cavity and between the first housing and the second housing. The anti-crushing element fixes a distance between the first housing and the second housing in response to a compressive force placed on the container. A passageway is formed by the container and is in communication with the internal cavity on a first end thereof. The passageway extends through at least one of the first housing or the second housing to the tab portion.

Device for gripping and removing a bait station

A spring loaded gripping device, having at least two hooksone fixed and one moveableextracts bait stations by engaging two portals on an internal cylindrical surface. The device is introduced into the station by adjusting the spring to a first retracted position, which causes the distance between the hooks do be less than the dimension defined by the distance between the portals of the bait station, thereby allowing entry of the hooks into the bait station. The spring is adjusted to a second extended position where the distance between the rods (hooks) is equal to or greater than the defined dimension. A tension is created between the portals which secures the station and allows its removal by a vertical lifting force applied to the device to which the hooks are secured.

Pest control system and method

A system and method of monitoring and controlling cellulose-consuming pests in a predetermined location with existing wells formed in the ground, provides for the use of an assembly that has a main body with a transverse upper lip, a flexible resilient sealing member fitted underside the lip in a surrounding relationship to the main body, and tightening bolts extending through the lip and the sealing member. When torque is applied to the tightening bolts, the sealing member is then compressed, causing it to expand horizontally and engage the interior walls of the existing well by sealing same. The main body is configured to removably receive one or more bait unit therein. A cap covering an open top of the main body covers the bait units when the system is positioned in the well.

PEST CONTROL AND DETECTION SYSTEM WITH CONDUCTIVE BAIT MATRIX

A pest control and/or detection system generally includes an electrically conductive bait matrix including at least one carrier material that is at least one of palatable, a phagostimulant and/or consumable and/or displaceable by pests, and a plurality of electrically conductive particles. The electrically conductive particles are substantially randomly interspersed throughout the at least one carrier material. The at least one carrier material includes a thermoplastic material and/or a resin.

Little fire ant killing bait station with access only to tiny insects and providing rain protection for longer effectiveness

This invention is the modification of widely available plastic household plumbing caps to serve as poison bait stations for killing colonies of little fire ants which have infested southern states and Hawaii creating misery for residents due to their bites. The modification consists of inserting into the caps metal screens with wire spacing adequate to allow passage of the tiny ants into the caps but preventing the bait granules from falling out. The bait stations so formed restrict the poison bait access to little fire ant or smaller insects and are protective of the environment and animals.

Compositions and methods for bed bug control using entomopathogenic fungi

Barrier treatment compositions using conidia of entomopathogenic fungi and methods for applying and using the same for bed bug population control and prevention are disclosed. The compositions and methods of the invention provide residual biopesticides control for bed bug populations using barrier treatment compositions transferring conidia of entomopathogenic fungi to a population of bed bugs providing effective kill within about 24 hours to about 10 days. The compositions and methods provide significantly enhanced horizontal transmission of the conidia of the entomopathogenic fungi providing enhanced bed bug control without detrimental effects of bed bug tolerance, resistance and/or negative impact on humans or animals contacting the residual biopesticides.
