A method for producing a tooth geometry includes selecting a root-side starting contour configured as an ellipse segment and a head-side partial contour of a tooth; selecting an adaptation region for at least a part of the root-side starting contour; determining for the adaptation region a correction specification determined using a correction function configured as an at least third-order polynomial having at least one adjustable function parameter comprising adjustable coefficients; modifying the root-side starting contour using the correction specification to form a root-side final contour, and producing the tooth geometry by chip-removing machining based on the head-side partial contour and the root-side final contour. Also disclosed are a computer program product for carrying out the method, a tool for manufacturing the tooth geometry based on the method, and a machine component having the tooth geometry.

Sprocket for agricultural vehicle

A conveyor for a combine harvester includes a chain and a sprocket. The sprocket includes an annular body defining an axis of rotation, two opposing sides, an outer perimeter extending between the two opposing sides, and gear teeth disposed on the outer perimeter. A bottom land extends between valleys of adjacent gear teeth. A single continuous edge is defined between two gear teeth at one of the adjacent sides. The bottom land includes (i) a central plateau portion, (ii) a first sloping surface extending from one edge of the central plateau portion to the single continuous edge at one of the two opposing sides, and (iii) a second sloping surface extending from the opposite edge of the central plateau portion to the single continuous edge at the other of the two opposing sides. The sloping surfaces either limit or prevent the accumulation of material thereon.

Asymmetric gear teeth

A gear train includes a first gear having teeth meshed with teeth of a second gear. Each tooth of the first gear includes a coast side and a drive side opposed to the coast side. The drive side has a pressure angle that is greater than that of the coast side. The gear train can be part of a powertrain system for a rotorcraft, and can replace a traditional gear train in a retrofit or new build. The first gear is a planet gear and the second gear is a ring gear wherein the planet gear and ring gear are in a planetary gear train configuration.
