WORM SPEED REDUCER
In a worm reducer, an urging member includes an urging shaft portion and an elastic pressing portion. The urging shaft portion is rotatably disposed inside a housing in a state in which a rotation center axis thereof is directed substantially parallel to a center axis of the worm wheel. The elastic pressing portion formed of an elastic material is externally fitted and fixed to a part of the urging shaft portion in an axial direction in an eccentric state with respect to the rotation center axis of the urging shaft portion. By rotating the urging shaft portion, an outer peripheral surface of the elastic pressing portion is pressed against an outer peripheral surface of a second bearing externally fitted to a worm shaft.
POWER STEERING DEVICE
A power steering device includes a bearing configured to rotatably support the tip side of a worm shaft, the gear case housing the worm shaft and a holder housed in a housing hole provided in the gear case and configured to house the second bearing. The holder includes the first holder having a holding part configured to hold the outer periphery of the bearing and the opening part configured to expose a part of the outer periphery of the bearing, the second holder having a guide part configured to guide a movement of the bearing toward a worm wheel as the outer periphery of the bearing comes into contact with the guide part through the opening part and a spring configured to bias the bearing toward the worm wheel via the first holder.
Electromechanical servo steering system having a spring-loaded bearing arrangement
An electromechanical servo steering system with an electric servomotor having a motor shaft that drives a shaft which cogs with a helical gear. The shaft is arranged in a transmission housing and is mounted rotatably about an axis of rotation at its end near the motor in a bearing arrangement and is mounted pivotably in the transmission housing about a pivot axis which lies transverse to the axis of rotation. At least one spring element is provided which axial pretensions a bearing element that is pivotably movable with the shaft about the pivot axis, of the bearing arrangement in a spring-elastic manner against a bearing element that is arranged in a stationary manner in the transmission housing, of the bearing arrangement, wherein precisely two spring elements are provided which are arranged oppositely in the circumferential direction of the bearing arrangement.
Steering column power assist assembly housing
A steering column power assist assembly housing includes a worm bearing sleeve, a gear bearing sleeve, and an over-molded portion of the housing formed on the worm bearing sleeve and the gear bearing sleeve.
POWER STEERING ASSEMBLY HAVING A COMPENSATION MECHANISM
A bearing adjustment assembly includes a worm engaged with a worm gear. The assembly also includes a worm bearing located proximate an end of the worm. The assembly further includes a compensation mechanism engaging the worm bearing, the compensation mechanism being adjustable to bias the worm bearing to maintain or adjust a gear mesh load between the worm gear and the worm.
CANTILEVERED WORM GEAR ASSEMBLY WITH LIMITER BUSHING
A power steering assembly includes an electric motor having an output shaft extending therefrom. The assembly also includes a housing containing a worm gear operatively coupled to a steering shaft, the worm gear rotatable about a worm gear axis. The assembly further includes an electric motor and a worm arranged to engage the worm gear, the worm extending from the output shaft of the electric motor as a single, integrally formed shaft, the single, integrally formed shaft extending axially from a first end to a second end and being cantilevered to allow the second end to deflect. The assembly yet further includes a bushing surrounding a portion of the shaft proximate the second end of the shaft, the bushing and the portion of the shaft defining a clearance therebetween.
WORM REDUCER AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING WORM REDUCER
A worm reducer includes a worm shaft; a worm wheel; a housing that houses the worm shaft and the worm wheel; a bearing that holds the worm shaft inside the housing; a coil spring that contacts an outer peripheral surface of the bearing and applies an urging force toward the worm wheel; and a preload member that is screwed into and fixed to the housing and pressurizes the coil spring. A winding direction of the coil spring is different from a winding direction of a thread of the preload member, and contact resistance between the coil spring and the preload member is greater than contact resistance between the coil spring and the bearing.
POWER STEERING ASSEMBLY HAVING A SPRING RETAINER FOR A COMPENSATION MECHANISM
A bearing adjustment assembly is provided. The assembly includes a worm engaged with a worm gear. The assembly also includes a worm bearing located proximate an end of the worm. The assembly further includes a spring disposed in a spring bore defined by the housing. The assembly yet further includes a compensation mechanism engaging the worm bearing and the spring, the compensation mechanism being adjustable to bias the worm bearing to maintain or adjust a gear mesh load between the worm gear and the worm, wherein compression of the spring adjusts the compensation mechanism biasing of the worm bearing. The assembly also includes a spring retainer comprising a pin retainer portion disposed within an interior of the spring, the pin retainer portion extending from a main body portion of the spring retainer.
Movable Barrier Operator and Gearbox Thereof
In one aspect, a moveable barrier operator is provided that includes a motor, an armature shaft of the motor, and a worm screw assembled with a distal end portion of the armature shaft. The movable barrier operator further includes a worm wheel engaged with the worm and a rotatable drive member connected to the worm wheel. Turning of the armature shaft and worm screw mounted thereto causes turning of the worm wheel and rotatable drive member.
Steering Gear
A steering gear includes a gear wheel, a screw pinion meshing therewith, and a screw pinion shaft that includes the screw pinion. The screw pinion shaft is mounted on one side of the screw pinion in a fixed bearing. The steering gear includes a rotary bearing which comprises an inner bearing shell and an outer bearing shell. The outer bearing shell is connected to an inner ring of a swivel ring. The inner ring is connected to an outer ring of the swivel ring by a torsion web so as to pivot about a pivot axis. The torsion web runs at a distance from a supporting surface. The distance is dimensioned such that the torsion web does not contact the supporting surface when the screw pinion shaft is not loaded with a torque, and partially contacts the same when the screw pinion shaft is loaded with an operating torque.
