Vehicle power transfer unit (PTU) with oil feed passage

One implementation of a vehicle power transfer unit (PTU) housing, such as that for an automobile, has an oil feed passage extending through one of its walls and at its interior. The oil feed passage delivers oil to gears, bearings, and/or other components equipped inside of the PTU housing and suspended above an oil bath in the PTU housing. Oil of the oil bath is thrown about by rotating gears and makes its way through the oil feed passage and to the gears, bearings, and/or other components. With the oil feed passage, the PTU housing does not rely solely on oil sloshing and splashing and being slung around inside of the PTU housing as the technique for getting oil to the gears, bearings, and/or other components.

LUBRICATING APPARATUS OF VEHICLE

A lubricating apparatus for a vehicle, comprises a first oil pump and a second oil pump, and a first supply passage connected to a discharge side of the first oil pump on which the lubricating oil is discharged so as to supply the lubricating oil discharged from the first oil pump to lubricated parts of the power transmission system, a second supply passage that is provided independently from the first supply passage and is connected to a discharge side of the second oil pump on which the lubricating oil is discharged so as to supply the lubricating oil discharged from the second oil pump to the lubricated parts of the power transmission system.

DRIVE MODULE ASSEMBLY AND DRIVE MODULE SYSTEM INCLUDING THE SAME

A drive module assembly includes a housing defining a housing interior for containing a lubricant. The housing interior is further defined as a first housing interior and a second housing interior. The drive module assembly also includes a first input shaft configured to receive rotational torque from a first power source, a first gear train rotatably coupled to the first input shaft, a first output shaft rotatably coupled to the first gear train, a second input shaft configured to receive rotational torque from a second power source, a second gear train disposed rotatably coupled to the second input shaft, and a second output shaft rotatably coupled to the second gear train. The first housing interior and the second housing interior are fluidly separate from one another.

A drive device for a motor vehicle. A machine housing in which an operating material consumer, and operating material tank, and an operating material pump are arranged. An air space is provided in the machine housing, into which at least one machine shaft of the drive device protrudes and which is separated by a partition wall from the operating material tank formed adjacent to the air space in the machine housing.

Fluid delivery system with load-dependent rotational speed reversal of a rotary pump

A fluid delivery system includes a reservoir for storing fluid, a rotary pump having a first pump port and a second pump port, a first fluid conduit connecting the first pump port to the reservoir, and a second fluid conduit connecting the second pump port to the reservoir. The rotary pump rotates in a first delivery direction in a normal mode and in a second delivery direction in an alternative mode. A first valve separates the first pump port from the reservoir when the rotary pump is in its alternative mode, and a second valve separates the second pump port from the reservoir when the rotary pump is in its normal mode.

VEHICULAR DRIVE DEVICE

A vehicular drive device includes a rotating electrical machine, transmission mechanism, case, and communication oil passage. The case includes a first housing chamber housing the rotating electrical machine and a second housing chamber housing the transmission mechanism. The communication oil passage communicates with the first and second housing chambers. The lower part of the second housing chamber forms a second oil reservoir where oil is scraped up by gear rotation. The case includes a partition wall between the first and second housing chambers axially. The communication oil passage runs under the partition wall and includes a first and second opening. The first opening opens to the first housing chamber at a first position away from the partition wall toward the first side in the axial direction. The second opening opens to the second housing chamber at a second position away from the partition wall toward the second side axially.

The invention relates to a drive system comprising a drive unit having a drive housing. The invention also relates to a drive transmission which comprises the drive system. The drive system comprises: a drive unit (1) having a drive housing (20); and a flow guide element (40) which is mechanically fixed to the outside of the drive housing (20) and which has at least a first cavity boundary (42) for forming at least regions of a first fluid reservoir (44), wherein a first cavity (43) that is delimited at least in regions by the first cavity boundary (42) is or can be fluidically connected to a lubrication device (60). The drive system proposed herein and the drive transmission comprising the drive system provide a means which can be used to lubricate connected or integrated transmission components in a straightforward, cost-effective and space-saving manner.

Sump having temperature-controlled jalousie divider

A baffle for disposition in a sump having a fluid containing cavity is disclosed. A first portion of the baffle has an outside edge abutting a side wall of the sump and an inner edge defining an opening. A second portion of the baffle extends downwardly from the inner edge to a lower edge abutting a bottom wall of the sump. At least one jalousie divider is disposed along the second portion of the baffle to regulate fluid flow through the baffle based on fluid temperature. A controller is coupled to the jalousie divider to selectively drive the jalousie divider to a closed position that prevents fluid flow through the baffle when the fluid temperature is below a temperature threshold and an open position that permits fluid flow through the second portion of the baffle when the fluid temperature is above the temperature threshold.

An axle assembly having an axle housing, a differential, and a ballast insert. The ballast insert may be disposed in the axle housing below the differential. The differential may have a ring gear. The ring gear may be received in a trench that may be provided in the ballast insert.

POWER TRANSFER DEVICE

A flange portion of a reservoir plate is provided with a holding portion that holds a working oil supply pipe disposed on a converter housing and that is composed of an overhanging portion formed so as to overhang toward the converter housing and a dented portion formed in the overhanging portion along the working oil supply pipe. Consequently, it is possible to reduce the number of components and achieve better assembly compared to a configuration in which another member such as a clamp member is used to hold the working oil supply pipe. Since the holding portion is formed in a complex shape from the overhanging portion and the dented portion with recesses and projections, moreover, the strength of the holding portion against bending etc. can be enhanced.
