Actuator system for a vehicle transmission, a vehicle comprising an actuator system, and a method for operating an actuator system
An actuator system for a vehicle transmission includes an actuating unit and an electric motor drivingly connected to the actuating unit. The actuating unit is configured for displacement by the electric motor between an engagement mode where the transmission is connected to a propulsion unit and a disengagement mode where the transmission is disconnected from the propulsion unit. A clutch unit between the actuating unit and the electric motor is connected to a drive shaft of the electric motor. The clutch unit is configured for connecting the actuating unit to the electric motor when displacing the actuating unit between the engagement disengagement modes. The clutch unit disconnects the actuating unit from the electric motor in the engagement mode. The system further includes an oil pump unit driven by the electric motor at least in the engagement mode.
Driveline component including multi-function actuator
A driveline component includes a first plate and a second plate. A motor is engaged with the first plate. The first plate and the second plate include ramped grooves that ramp toward the other of the first plate and the second plate. Balls are disposed between the first plate and the second plate and are engaged with the ramped grooves. A shifter is engaged with the second plate. Relative rotation of the first plate and the second plate causes the balls in the ramped grooves to move the first plate and the second plate axially relative to each other. This relative rotation may be used to make one type of mode selection, and operation of the shifter by the second plate may be used to make another type of mode selection. This allows the single motor to make both selections.

Motor sticking diagnosis and repair method and device in shift-by-wire system
A motor sticking diagnosis and repair method includes the steps of, when an operation of a shift lever is detected, determining whether a current position matches a target position, when the current position does not match the target position, rotating the motor toward the target position, determining once again whether the current position matches the target position after rotation of the motor, when the current position does not match the target position, diagnosing whether the motor sticking has occurred, when the motor is diagnosed as being stuck, allowing the motor to switch to a free-rotation mode by temporarily blocking the current being applied to the motor upon sticking diagnosis, and selecting either a first repair strategy or a second repair strategy depending on whether the position of the motor changes after switching to the free-rotation mode.

Shift device
A shift device includes: a shift switching member including valley portions corresponding to shift positions; a motor including a rotor and a stator and configured to drive the shift switching member; a first drive system including a first control unit configured to control a voltage for driving the motor; a second drive system provided separately from the first drive system and including a second control unit configured to control a voltage for driving the motor; and a positioning member configured to establish the shift positions in a state in which the positioning member is fitted into any one of the valley portions of the shift switching member. The shift device acquires the shift positions when the motor is driven by the voltage output from one of the first and second drive systems to move the positioning member such that the positioning member continuously passes through the valley portions.

Methods and systems for a transmission shift assembly
Various methods and systems are provided for a shift assembly for a vehicle transmission. In one example, a shift assembly for a transmission includes a first barrel cam including a first cam track; a second barrel cam arranged coaxially with the first barrel cam and including a second cam track; a first motor configured to drive the first barrel cam independent of the second barrel cam; and a second motor configured to drive the second barrel cam independent of the first barrel cam.
Actuator unit
An actuator unit that drives a switching mechanism for a shift range of an automatic transmission is provided. The actuator unit includes a motor that generates a drive force for driving the switching mechanism, a control substrate that controls the motor, a connector that connects a wire to the control substrate, a housing that includes an opening, a cover that covers the opening, and a shock absorption material that includes a first shock absorption material and a second shock absorption material. The motor and the control substrate are positioned in a housing space defined by the housing and the cover. The control substrate is fixed to the housing. The first shock absorption material and the second shock absorption material are positioned between the control substrate and the cover, and contacts both the control substrate and the cover.
