Stuffing box for use with reciprocal moveable piston rods and method of manufacturing
Described herein is a packing box for mounting on a machinery shaft. In accordance with one aspect, the packing box housing defines a central opening for insertion of a movable machinery shaft with a hollow passageway surrounding the central opening to form a path for the flow of a fluid coolant. The passageway is provided with a fluid inlet port and a fluid outlet port opening onto the outer surface of the packing box housing, and it is formed by a single conduit or by a plurality of conduits obtained through additive manufacturing process and connected in series or in parallel to wound around the central opening.
Gland packing and packing structure
A gland packing includes a gland packing body made of expanded graphite. The gland packing body has a cylindrical shape, and has a plurality of layers formed in a radial direction. The gland packing body has first and second surfaces, which are both end surfaces in an axial direction. The gland packing further includes an annular first sheet portion made of expanded graphite, an annular second sheet portion made of expanded graphite, an annular first porous member, and an annular second porous member. The first sheet portion is arranged on the first surface. The second sheet portion is arranged on the second surface. The first porous member is arranged on the first sheet portion. The second porous member is arranged on the second sheet portion.
Stuffing box body with integral diverted lantern ring
A bearing with an integral diverted lantern ring for installation into the seal cavity of a rotary mechanical device to provide a bearing surface and allow for flush fluid to engage the shaft closer to the motor end is provided. The bearing eliminates whip in a rotating shaft and is split to allow easy installation over an installed shaft. The bearing is substantially cylindrical with an inner bore closely approximating the outer diameter of the shaft. The diverted lantern ring includes an outer groove at the impeller end on the outer surface at a flush port and a groove on the inner surface at a location closer to the motor end. Flush fluid channels are provided between the outer groove and inner groove of the bearing. The purpose is to redirect the external flush from the impeller end on the OD to the motor end on the ID, thus repositioning the flush deposit on the sleeve, under the bearing. This allows the throttling characteristic of the close clearance bearing surface to increase.
Seal system for dry lube pin joints
A pin connection for a machine is provided that comprises a structural member that defines a pin receiving bore, a bearing housing that defines a bearing receiving bore, a self-lubricating bearing that defines a pin receiving bore, and a pin that is disposed in the bores of the bearing and the structural member. The pin connection may further comprise a seal assembly that is disposed in the bearing receiving bore of the bearing housing, the seal assembly comprising a micro-cellular closed cell foam member and a first rigid member.
Pneumatic immersion lubricant pump
A pneumatic immersion lubricant pump, including a primary piston sliding in a sealed manner in contrast to at least one spring inside a cylindrical body together with which the primary piston defines a chamber provided on an opposite side of the primary piston with respect to that where the at least one spring is positioned, a body of the pump including at least one channel in which an element projecting from the primary piston is slidably housed in a sealed manner. The body of the pump including a plurality of cylinders each equipped with a loading port open on the outside of the pump body. Each cylinder housing a secondary piston axially constrained to the primary piston. The projecting element and the channel defining a pressurization duct of the chamber.
Fluid end assembly
A fluid end assembly having a plurality of fluid end sections positioned in a side-by-side relationship. Each fluid end section has a housing made of multiple-piece construction. One or more pieces of the housing are configured to have a plurality of stay rods attached thereto. The stay rods interconnect the fluid end assembly and a power end assembly.
Stuffing box and packing rings for use therein
A packing ring is disclosed for sealingly engaging a movable rod member within a stuffing box having an internal cavity. In an embodiment, the packing ring includes a carrier and a sealing ring mounted to the carrier. The sealing ring is configured to sealingly engage with an outer surface of the rod when the rod is disposed within the internal cavity. The carrier includes a radially outer surface that is configured to sealingly engage with an internal surface of the stuffing box. In addition, the carrier includes a radially inner surface that is proximate to an outer surface of the rod when the rod extends through the stuffing box. Further, the carrier includes a plurality of lubrication grooves each groove extending from the radially outer surface to the radially inner surface and configured to convey a lubricant flow between the radially outer surface and the radially inner surface.
