Method for refurbishing an assembly of a machine
A method for refurbishing an assembly having a first component and a second component is provided. The first component has a fore portion welded to the second component and a flared aft portion in proximity with the second component. The method includes processing the assembly such that the flared aft portion and a part of the fore portion proximal to the flared aft portion of the first component is subject to peening until the flared aft portion is plastically deformed from an initial position to a desired final position with respect to the second component.
SELF-CENTERING SEAL AND METHOD OF USING SAME
A seal includes a seal body disposed about a seal axis and configured to be mounted to a first component at a second axial end of the seal body. The seal body includes an interior surface defining a seal gland circumferentially extending about the seal axis. A packing is disposed within the seal gland. A retaining ring is in communication with a second radial side of the packing and is disposed within the seal gland. A plurality of exciter springs are mounted to a second radial side of the retaining ring. The plurality of exciter springs are biased against the interior surface of the seal body and are configured to center the packing within the seal body. The packing is configured to receive a second component and form a seal interface between the packing and the second component. The seal body is configured to form a portion of a passage.
SHAFT-CYLINDER ASSEMBLY FOR HIGH TEMPERATURE OPERATION
The present invention provides a shaft-cylinder assembly for high-temperature operation comprising a dynamic sealing member having a helical coiled seal ring structure configured to be in contact with the shaft for providing dynamic sealing function; and a cylindrical cooling jacket positioned between the dynamic sealing member and the cylinder, and configured to circumferentially surround the dynamic sealing member and be circumferentially surrounded by the cylinder; wherein the cooling jacket includes one or more cooling channels, each of the one or more cooling channels is configured to circulate a cooling fluid for moving heat away from the dynamic sealing member.
CONTAMINATION GUARD
A contamination guard for a machine is disclosed herein. The contamination guard includes an inner ring, a first annulus, a second annulus, and an impeller. The impeller is configured to promote intake of nearby air with contamination. The first annulus and second annulus form a passage that is configured to sling away air with contamination during operation of the machine.

METALLIC SEALING ASSEMBLY FOR SEALING BETWEEN A ROTATING SHAFT AND A FIXED FRAME
A metallic sealing assembly between a rotating shaft and a fixed frame comprises: a flexible metallic seal having two tori, inner and outer, that are concentric and of different average diameters, comprising a metal envelope which encases and holds the inner and outer tori; a shaft rotating about an axis of rotation, comprising an annular shoulder against which the seal comes to press; a counter-face, comprising a contact face against which the seal comes to press; a wedge block positioned around the rotating shaft such that the seal is held between the wedge block and the contact face, the wedge block mounted to slide on the rotating shaft; a metal part which forms a cap through which the rotating shaft passes and which is secured to the frame and/or to the counter-face, the rotating shaft being free to rotate with respect to the cap and axially secured to the cap.
Damper
A damper includes a piston provided with a rod, and a housing storing the piston, and generates a braking force by an operation of the piston. The piston includes a seal member relative to an inner wall of the housing; and a slider contacting the inner wall of the housing with a predetermined frictional force. When the braking force is generated, the slider presses against the seal member, and a portion contacting the inner wall of the housing in the seal member deforms toward an outside of the housing. At an inner side of the portion contacting the inner wall of the housing in the seal member, a deformation control portion is provided, which suppresses the seal member from deforming toward an inside of the housing.

TORQUE RESISTANT SEAL
A torque-resistant dual face seal includes a seal ring having an L-shaped cross-section including an axially-extending flange and a radially-extending flange, the seal ring including an annular seal face and an opposing annular loading surface. The seal ring includes a plurality of deformations formed in a spaced apart arrangement circumferentially around the axially-extending flange. An axial cross-section through the axially-extending flange and intersecting one of the plurality of deformations includes a stepped geometry. The plurality of deformations allows a load ring to squeeze into the plurality of deformations to increase a surface area contact between the seal ring and the load ring.
SEAL
The disclosure concerns a seal, in particular a rod seal for sealing an axially movable rod in a guide cylinder, in particular a piston seal for a pneumatically, electrically or hydraulically driven coating agent pump for pumping coating agent, having an annular sealing element for sealingly resting on a circumferential surface of an axially movable rod, and having at least one elastic annular pretensioning element, the annular pretensioning element surrounding the annular sealing element radially on the outside and pretensioning it radially to the inside. The disclosure provides an annular seal base body which externally surrounds and holds the sealing element and the pretensioning element. In addition, the disclosure also comprises an inverted variant in which the seal is arranged in an annular groove in a lateral surface of a piston and lies sealingly against the cylinder running surface.
