Field Joint Transfer System

A field joint transfer system for transferring a hot field joint along a curved path between a tensioner and a stinger during deployment of a pipeline from a pipelay vessel. The system comprises a plurality of adjustable pipe support units defining a curved path between the tensioner and the stinger, wherein one or more of the pipe support units can be moved out of engagement with the pipeline to allow the hot field-joint to pass the respective pipe support unit without contact, while maintaining support for the pipeline along the curved path. A mobile pipe support may be provided on an overhead gantry to follow the pipe as it passes along the curved path.

Stinger for a pipe laying operation

A stinger including a first member formed from a first non-metallic material, a second body member formed from a second non-metallic material, and a plurality of cross-support members disposed between the first body member and the second body member. The first body member includes a first lower portion, a first upper portion, and a first intermediate portion disposed between the first lower portion and the first upper portion. A width of the first lower portion is greater than a width of the first intermediate portion and a width of the first upper portion, and wherein the width of the first upper portion is greater than the width of the first intermediate portion. The second body member includes a second lower portion, a second upper portion, and a second intermediate portion disposed between the second lower portion and the second upper portion.

A vessel for laying a pipeline includes a plurality of workstations disposed along a pipelaying path that includes an upstream portion away from a first end of the vessel and a plurality of ramps, includes a first ramp and a downstream second ramp disposed along the pipelaying path, in the region of the first end of the vessel. Each of the plurality of ramps has a first upstream end, a second downstream end, and an adjustable inclination. The downstream end of the first ramp is positioned inboard of the first end of the vessel and above the bottom of the vessel and the upstream end of the second ramp is positioned inboard of the first end of the vessel and above the bottom of the vessel. An external ramp assembly includes ramps that can be pivoted relative to one another and locked in a selected position.

OFFSHORE S-LAY PIPELAYING VESSEL

An offshore S-lay pipelaying vessel for laying a pipeline on the seabed, the vessel includes a hull and an elongated stinger having a hull end and a free end, the stinger being adapted to support the pipeline to be laid from the vessel. The stinger includes a stinger frame, possibly composed of one or more rigid stinger frame sections, possibly articulated sections. And, distributed over the length of the stinger, multiple pipeline support assemblies are mounted to the stinger frame that provide support for the pipeline.
