A pressure regulating device includes an on-board storage tank, a mixing chamber, first and second lines, a recirculation line, a pressure sensor and a controller. The storage tank stores and supplies cryogenic fuel to a combustion chamber and includes a booster pump. The first line supplies cryogenic fuel in the liquid state and includes a pressurizing pump and a first regulation valve. The second line supplies cryogenic fuel in the gaseous state and includes a compressor and a first control valve. The recirculation line includes a second regulation valve and with a first heat exchanger. The pressure sensor detects the pressure inside the storage tank. The controller receives the pressure and controls the first and second regulation valves, the first control valve, the pressurizing pump, the booster pump and the compressor, as a function of a value of a setpoint pressure inside the storage tank.
SUBTERRANEAN SEALED TANK WITH VARYING WIDTH
A subterranean tank can consist of at least a casing string that has a containment section disposed between first and second end regions. The containment section may have a first width while each of the first and second end regions have a second width. The first width can be greater than the second width of the respective first or second end regions. The entire casing string may be sealed to maintain a gas at 5,000 psi or more until a gas delivery assembly attached to the first end region releases gas stored in the casing string.
Method and system for compressing gas using a liquid
A method of compressing gas includes maintaining a volume of gas at a first pressure within a first chamber. Pressurized liquid is forced into the first chamber through a nozzle having a curved profile. Based on the Coanda effect, the liquid compresses the volume of gas to a second pressure greater than the first pressure. The liquid is separated from the gas in a second chamber while maintaining the gas at the second pressure to provide compressed, dry gas.
System for compressed gas energy storage
Embodiments provide systems and methods for taking power from an electric power grid and converting it into higher-pressure natural gas for temporary storage. After temporary storage, the higher-pressure natural gas may be expanded through an expansion engine to drive a generator that converts energy from the expanding natural gas into electrical power, which may then be returned to the electric power grid. In this way, the disclosed systems and methods may provide ways to temporarily store, and then return stored power from the electric power grid. Preferably, the components of the system are co-located at the same natural gas storage facility. This allows natural gas storage, electrical energy storage, and electrical energy generation to take place at the same facility.

An apparatus for servicing a tank and/or a plug includes a valve having a first port sealingly couplable onto a tank port surrounding the plug, a second port, and a valve member operable between an open position providing a pathway between the first and second ports, and a closed position providing a sealed barrier between the first and second ports. The apparatus further includes an adapter sealingly couplable to the second port, and a plug displacement tool couplable to the adapter for displacing the plug relative to the tank when the first port is coupled to the tank port, the adapter is coupled to the second port, and the valve member is in the open position.
System and method for priority CNG filling
A method of dispensing compressed natural gas (CNG) includes assigning a first priority to the filling of a first destination tank and assigning a second priority to the filling of a second destination tank. The second priority is lower than the first priority. The method also includes filling the first destination tank from a first CNG source while filling the second destination tank from a second CNG source. The second CNG source provides CNG at a lower pressure relative to the pressure at which the first CNG source provides CNG.
