Tank support assembly for a vehicle
A tank support assembly for a vehicle includes a vehicle structure and a storage tank assembly. The storage tank assembly is held in place relative to the vehicle structure via a magnetic support system. The magnetic support system includes tank magnets affixed to the storage tank assembly and structure magnets affixed to the vehicle structure. The tank magnets interact with the structure magnets to passively provide repulsive magnetic forces that constrain movement of the storage tank assembly relative to the vehicle structure without the tank magnets mechanically engaging the structure magnets.
Cryogenic liquid tank
A hydrogen storage tank for a hydrogen fueled aircraft. The tank has a wall made of layers of aerogel sections around a hard shell layer, sealed within a flexible outer layer, and having the air removed to form a vacuum. The periphery of each layer section abuts other sections of that layer, but only overlies the periphery of the sections of other layers at individual points. The wall is characterized by a thermal conductivity that is lower near its gravitational top than its gravitational bottom. The tank has two exit passageways, one being direct, and the other passing through a vapor shield that extends through the wall between two layers of aerogel. A control system controls the relative flow through the two passages to regulate the boil-off rate of the tank.
Thermally Insulating Sealed Tank
A sealed and thermally insulating tank incorporated in a supporting structure (2), the tank including at least one inclined tank wall (1) forming an angle with a horizontal direction and fixed to a supporting wall of the supporting structure (2) is disclosed. The tank wall (1) has a multilayer structure including successively, in the direction of thickness from the outside to the inside of the tank, a thermally insulating barrier (3) held against the corresponding supporting wall and a sealed membrane (4) carried by the thermally insulating barrier (3). The tank includes sealed strips (15) in the space formed between the thermally insulating barrier (3) and the supporting wall.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR STORING LIQUID HYDROGEN
The present disclosure provides a storage system comprising a storage tank configured to store fuel at a cryogenic temperature for a predetermined amount of time. The storage tank may have a plurality of layers comprising: a first layer comprising a pressure vessel for containing the fuel at a pressurized state; a second layer comprising insulation for the first layer; a third layer comprising a vapor barrier; and a fourth layer comprising a shell configured to maintain a rigidity of the storage tank.
HEAT INSULATION STRUCTURE FOR CORNER PARTS OF LIQUEFIED NATURAL GAS STORAGE TANK
A heat insulation structure for corner parts of a liquefied natural gas (LNG) storage tank includes a secondary insulation wall arranged on an inner wall of a hull, a secondary sealing wall disposed on the secondary insulation wall, a primary insulation wall arranged on the secondary sealing wall, and a primary sealing wall disposed on the primary insulation wall. The heat insulation structure includes a corner assembly finishing an edge of the primary sealing wall at a corner part of the storage tank to complete sealing of the storage tank. The corner assembly includes an endcap sheet finishing each of four corners of the primary sealing wall provided to each surface of the storage tank to seal the four corners. The endcap sheet includes an endcap corrugation and an elongated corrugation extending in a direction perpendicular to a direction in which the endcap corrugation extends.
SEALED AND THERMALLY INSULATING TANK
The invention relates to a sealed and thermally insulating tank for storing fluid, comprising, from the outside to the inside of the tank, a secondary thermally insulating barrier and a secondary sealing membrane, the secondary sealing membrane being secured to the secondary thermally insulating barrier, a primary thermally insulating barrier resting against the secondary sealing membrane and a primary sealing membrane resting against the primary thermally insulating barrier, the tank comprising a duct that extends along a longitudinal direction, the duct being delimited on one hand by the secondary thermally insulating barrier and on the other hand by the secondary sealing membrane, a bottom of the duct being at least in part formed by the secondary thermally insulating barrier, the tank further comprising a pressure-drop stopper that is arranged in the duct and extends between the bottom of the duct and the sealing membrane.
