The at least one interconnectable unit includes a unit body, at least one first channel, at least one second channel, and at least one light-generating device. The unit body may be any type of building material such as, but not limited to, a block, brick, or tile. The at least one first channel is an area within the unit body that receives and stores the at least one light-generating device. The at least one second channel is used to allow passage of light from the at least one light-generating device. The at least one light-generating device is main source of light energy which allows the system of interconnectable units to display an illuminating pattern, message, slogan, advertisement, etc.
CONNECTOR SYSTEM FOR LIGHTING ASSEMBLY
A linear LED lamp having a body with a length between spaced first and second ends. The linear LED lamp has an elongate heat sink and a light source comprising LED emitters and a first end cap assembly at the first end of the body. The first end cap assembly has conductive power and ground pins and a support connector has conductive power and ground terminals for connecting with an external power supply and providing a grounding path for components of the lamp. The power and ground pins of the first end cap assembly are configured to engage the power and ground terminals of the support connector as an incident of the first end cap assembly moving relative to the support connector in a path that is transverse to the length of the body into an engaged position. A sleeve connector is also provided for mounting a non-power end of a linear LED lamp to a light fixture.
CONNECTOR SYSTEM FOR LIGHTING ASSEMBLY
A support connector for maintaining an end of a linear LED lamp in an operative state on a support. The support connector comprises a nonconductive housing comprising a first portion including a mounting base at one end of the first portion configured to couple the support connector to the support. A second portion extends from the opposite end of the first portion and is configured to be insertable within an opening of a first end cap assembly of the linear LED lamp. First and second power electrical terminals are disposed within first and second receptacles of the support connector, and a grounding electrical terminal is disposed within a third receptacle, and the grounding electrical terminal is electrically isolated from the first and second power terminals. The first and second power electrical terminals mate with first and second conductive power pins of the end cap assembly, and the grounding electrical terminal is configured to mate with a grounding pin of the end cap assembly as the first end cap assembly is moved relative to the support connector from a position fully separated from the support connector in a path that is transverse to the length of the body into an engaged position.
MODULAR LIGHTING SYSTEM
A modular lighting system comprises a plurality of LED modules and a plurality of connecting modules intended for the creation of three-dimensional constructions. The LED modules comprise an elongated cylinder-shaped body made of translucent electrically insulating polymer material. A longitudinally upper opening and a lower opening with flat elongated cross-section shape are located one above the other. The inner surface of both openings is electrically conductive through the entire length of the openings, creating electrically interconnected upper and lower electrical sockets. The LED module is connected to a connecting module, which comprises an upper and a lower connecting element. The upper connecting element is a flat metal one-piece part. It consists of a base part and three same-size pins located around its perimeter, the sizes of which correspond to the sizes of LED module sockets. The lower and upper connecting elements are identical and can be fastened together.
End cap with contactor exerting outward force and lighting device having same
An end cap for a solid-state lighting device is described that provides an electrical connection(s) between an external power source and at least one solid-state emitter disposed in a hollow member of the lighting device. An outer wall extends a first distance and an inner wall extends a second distance from an inward-facing side of the end cap base. A gap between the inner wall and the outer wall accommodates the insertion of the hollow member. A contactor electrically coupled to a conductive member on an opposite side of the end cap extends into the gap. The contactor exerts a force on a flexible conductor and provides a power supply path to or power return path from the at least one solid-state emitter. Preferably, the lighting device includes an array of solid-state emitters disposed on a flexible substrate.
Connector system for lighting assembly
An elongate tubular lighting assembly having a body with a length between spaced first and second ends. The tubular lighting assembly has an elongate heat sink and a light source comprising LED emitters and first and second connectors respectively at the first and second body ends for securing the lighting assembly to a light fixture. The first connector has cooperating first and second parts having first and second surfaces. The first and second connector parts are configured so that the first and second surfaces are placed in confronting relationship to prevent separation of the first and second connector parts with the body in an operative state as an incident of the first connector part moving relative to the second connector part from a position fully separated from the second connector part in a substantially straight path that is transverse to the length of the body into an engaged position. The first connector part has conductive power and ground pins and the second connector part has conductive power and ground terminals for connecting with an external power supply and providing a grounding path for components of the lamp. The power and ground pins of the first connector part are configured to engage the power and ground terminals of the second connector part as an incident of the first connector part moving relative to the second connector part into the engaged position. A sleeve connector is also provided for mounting a non-power end of a linear LED lamp to a light fixture.
