Exterior ventilator door and ventilator assembly for bringing fresh air into a structure
11215006 · 2022-01-04 ·

A stile and rail frame exterior solid core door brings fresh outside air into a structure horizontally through a ventilator assembly. The ventilator assembly includes an upper housing. The upper housing includes a filter for filtering the fresh air and a fan in a fan housing provides a flow of air into the upper housing and through the filter and into the structure horizontally through the door. Air flow through the housing is controlled by a movable damper in the upper housing. An actuator moves the damper in response to electronic input signals. Stale air is exhausted from the structure in a similar manner, through a fan in a lower housing. The upper and lower housings with their fans extend substantially the width of the door between the stiles. Electronic elements are in a housing in the door, and respond to information appropriately sensed by sensor elements placed in the structure. For new construction, the ventilator assembly may be located in a transom area above the door or may be vertically oriented adjacent to a door or as desired.

Air moving device with bypass intake

An air moving device has a housing with a primary flow path and a secondary flow path that extends from a secondary inlet of the housing and empties into an inner outlet adjacent the primary flow path. An impeller assembly rotates a blade to cause air to enter the housing and flow along the primary flow path. The flow of air through the primary flow path creates a low pressure region at the inner outlet of the secondary flow path, causing air to flow through the secondary flow path and mix with the air in the primary flow path. The mixture of air flows through a downstream portion of the primary flow path having an expanded width compared to an upstream portion of the primary flow path and exits the housing. Stator vanes may extend longitudinally within the housing to cause columnar air flow. The device may be used for destratification of thermal gradients of air within an enclosure, such as a home or warehouse.

Such base units have a base collar that extends away from the mounting platform and forms a perimeter of a opening through the base unit. Such ventilation systems include a fan unit that has a fan housing and a fan. The fan housing is configured to receive air through an inlet and expel air through an outlet, and the fan is capable of moving air from the inlet to the outlet. Such ventilation systems also include a quick connect interface that has a base feature and a fan housing feature. The base feature is integrated into the base unit, and the fan housing feature integrated into the fan unit; both are capable of detachably connecting together to secure the fan unit to the base unit.

Air flow amplifier for HVAC system

A heating, ventilation, and/or air conditioning (HVAC) unit includes an air flow amplifier coupled to a fan deck of the HVAC unit. The air flow amplifier includes a ring having an annular cavity and an air flow inlet formed in the ring. The air flow inlet is configured to direct an air flow into the annular cavity. The air flow amplifier also includes a first annular air flow outlet formed in the ring and configured to direct a first portion of the air flow out of the annular cavity and along an inner diameter of the ring. The air flow amplifier further includes a second annular air flow outlet formed in the ring and configured to direct a second portion of the air flow out of the annular cavity and along the inner diameter of the ring.

An air inlet for an air handling unit includes a duct defining a passageway leading to the air handling unit. The fresh air inlet further includes an intake screen that is formed to include a plurality of openings sized to allow airflow to pass through the openings to the air handling unit. Accumulated particles are removed from surfaces of the intake screen with a screen cleaning system.

Bottom-mounted whole house fan assembly

A bottom-mounted whole house fan assembly includes an intake plenum mounted over an opening in a ceiling of a building. The intake plenum is supported on the ceiling in the attic of the building. One end of a flexible duct is connected to the intake plenum and the other end of the duct is connected to a fan so that the fan draws air in the building through the intake plenum and duct and exhausts the air in the attic from whence the air is vented to atmosphere. The fan is supported by at least one vertical strut that is connected to the ceiling at the lower end of the strut and to a housing of the fan at the upper end of the strut. A sound dampener is interposed between the strut and the fan housing and/or the ceiling beam to which the strut is attached.

Air conditioner and pipe installation apparatus therefor

An air conditioner includes an indoor unit to be installed in indoor space, an outdoor unit to be installed in outdoor space, the outdoor unit being separated by a building wall from the indoor space, a refrigerant pipe to connect the indoor unit with the outdoor, a ventilation pipe to connect the indoor unit to the outdoor space, a ventilation device to be arranged in the indoor space and to be connected to the ventilation pipe to ventilate indoor air in the indoor space to outdoor space or outdoor air in the outdoor space to the indoor space through the ventilation pipe, and a sleeve to be installed to pass through a hole formed at the wall to guide the refrigerant pipe and the ventilation pipe therethrough.

Airflow moisture reduction system

The airflow system includes a wall penetration hole, a high-velocity fan system attached to that hole, and a port manifold which allows multiple fan systems to be connected to one wall penetration. The airflow system is controlled with a timer and a fan speed controller, either wirelessly or with electrical wiring. The airflow system is further self-optimizing with a temperature and humidity controller that allows the airflow system to turn itself on and off to adjust the designated space to reach a target temperature or humidity for the space. The airflow system reduces moisture in a designated space to improve air quality and reduce biological spores and gasses from poorly ventilated spaces.

A fresh-air cooling system and methods of cooling a building structure with the same are provided. The system has an exterior interface assembly, a damper, a register, a duct, and a motorized fan. The exterior interface assembly is connected to the register by the duct and provides a flow path for air outside the building to enter the duct. The motorized fan is disposed in an attic of the building structure and pulls air into the attic from a living space to create a negative static pressure in the living space. The damper is positioned along the flow path from the exterior interface assembly to the living space and opens to allow air outside the building structure to enter the living space in response to motorized fan creating in the living space a negative static pressure that exceeds the cracking pressure of the damper. The cracking pressure of the damper can be adjusted to control the flow rate of outside air through the damper.
