The present application includes a plant for treating gas, particularly natural gas, supplied by a transmission network. The plant includes a gas inlet connected to the transmission network, a portion of the plant that decompresses, to a predefined outlet pressure, a first fraction of the gas from the inlet, and supplies the decompressed gas at a first outlet. The plant also includes another portion that liquifies a second fraction of the gas from the inlet and supplies the liquefied gas at a second outlet. The portion that carries out the decompressing includes a valve for throttling the first gas fraction, a heat exchanger establishing a thermal exchange relationship between the decompressing portion placed downstream the throttle valve and the portion that liquifies and supplies the gas, another heat exchanger establishing a thermal exchange relationship between the plant portions placed downstream the first heat exchanger and upstream the throttle valve. The portion that liquifies and supplies also includes a valve for throttling the second gas fraction that is downstream the first heat exchanger.

Solvent injection and recovery in a LNG plant

Implementations described and claimed herein provide systems and methods for processing liquefied natural gas (LNG). In one implementation, a solvent is injected into a feed of natural gas at a solvent injection point. A mixed feed is produced from a dispersal of the solvent into the feed of natural gas. The mixed feed contains heavy components. A chilled feed is produced by chilling the mixed feed. The chilled feed includes a vapor and a condensed liquid. The condensed liquid contains a fouling portion of the heavy components condensed by the solvent during chilling. The liquid containing the fouling portion of the heavy components is separated from the vapor. The vapor is directed into a feed chiller heat exchanger following separation of the liquid containing the fouling portion of the heavy components from the vapor, such that the vapor being directed into feed chiller heat exchanger is free of freezing components.

A system for generating an inert fluid, the system being carried on board an aircraft, the generation system including a plurality of devices configured each, in succession, to execute a separation of components of a primary fluid initially collected in the form of compressed hot air, the system including at least one heat exchanger configured to execute a separation of components, by change of phase of a component of the primary fluid, executing a cooling of the primary fluid using liquid hydrogen, supplied with liquid hydrogen collected from a tank of the aircraft. It is thus possible to generate an inert gas without requiring membrane separation of the nitrogen and the oxygen, and while at the same time making it easier to warm the liquid hydrogen stored and used in the aircraft as a source of energy.

Standalone high-pressure heavies removal unit for LNG processing

Implementations described and claimed herein provide systems and methods for processing liquefied natural gas (LNG). In one implementation, a dry feed gas is received. The dry feed gas is chilled with clean vapor from a heavies removal column to form a chilled feed gas. The chilled feed gas is partially condensed into a vapor phase and a liquid phase. The liquid phase retains freezing components. The freezing components are extracted using a reflux stream in the heavies removal column. The freezing components are removed as a condensate. The vapor phase is compressed into a clean feed gas. The clean feed gas is free of the freezing components for downstream liquefaction.
