Firearm safety device and system for uniquely and individually enabling firearm discharge

The present invention relates to smart gun technology, i.e., devices, systems, and methods, designed to ensure that the individual who is attempting to fire a weapon has been authorized to use the in-use weapon. In some embodiments, we disclose a firearm safety device having a spring-type, hammerless firing pin coupled to a logic circuit configured to uniquely identify an individual. Some embodiments employ RFID technology, which is much more reliable than most consumer-grade biometric identification mechanisms.

A magazine device for a firearm is disclosed herein. The magazine device comprises a generally curved elongate casing, a spring-loaded follower frame, a lighting element, and a multiple transparent windows. The follower frame is configured to traverse from a lower end of the casing to an upper end of the casing in predetermined positions according to the depletion of ammunition positioned on each follower frame. The lighting element is housed proximal to a rear section of the follower frame, where the lighting element is configured to illuminate the vicinity of the follower frame. The transparent windows are positioned on the casing, in alignment with the predetermined positions of the follower frame, where the transparent windows are configured to display the level and number of ammunition left in the follower frame after a firing process.

A magazine dispenser for loading a magazine into a gun having an opening to receive and hold at least one magazine through an opening. Once at least one magazine is inserted, a flange of the magazine is received in a track provided by a slot region in the magazine dispenser. The magazine then rests on a retention bar disposed in the track which may impede the magazine from being dispensed or support the magazine to be dispensed from the magazine dispenser depending on circumstances.

A pistol has a bolt with a surface that contacts the cartridge in the magazine to next be chambered. The bolt is mounted within the slide. As the bolt moves with the slide out of battery the surface exerts a force on the cartridge in the direction of motion of the slide. The force counteracts inertial forces on the cartridge imposed by recoil of the pistol.
