FIREARM SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR ACCOMMODATING DIFFERENT BULLET CASING LENGTHS
20190101348 · 2019-04-04 ·

A firearm includes a frame, a slide assembly, an actuator, a bolt assembly, and an adjuster. The slide assembly includes a threaded bore, the slide assembly releasably and slidably coupled to the frame. The actuator includes a body and an extension, the extension protruding from the body. The bolt assembly includes a catch. The adjuster includes a first end, a second end, and a plurality of threads. The first end includes an interface configured to accommodate the extension of the actuator. The plurality of threads are disposed between the first end and the second end. The plurality of threads are configured to interface with the threaded bore of the slide assembly such that rotation of the adjuster within the threaded bore of the slide assembly by the actuator translates the bolt assembly and thereby facilitates firing ammunition having different casing lengths.

In a forced rest trigger mechanism, provided is an extended trigger member locking device having a locking member that is movable between a first position in which it locks a trigger member against pulling movement and a second position where it does not restrict movement of the trigger member. The locking member is configured to be movably supported by a frame and includes a generally upward extension portion configured to make actuating contact with a surface of a bolt carrier. The locking member has a body portion that is movably supported and an upward extension portion that is separately movable relative to the body portion between an extended position and a deflected position.

AUTO-LOADING UNDERWATER FIREARM
20190017773 · 2019-01-17 ·

A shockwave impulse disruptor system for use in an underwater firearm. The system includes a barrel having a bore, a muzzle, and at least one barrel port. A housing is external to the bore and defines at least a first gas expansion chamber. The expansion chamber is in fluid communication with the barrel port and has at least one exhaust port. The barrel bore and expansion chamber are flooded when underwater. Propellant gases that push a projectile through the bore are vented through the barrel port to force water from the expansion chamber through the exhaust port and to vent propellant gases. This delays the release of gases to surrounding water and reduces the amount of gas expelled through the muzzle.

TRIGGER GROUP FOR SEMI-AUTOMATIC FIREARMS

Trigger groups for semi-automatic firearms have a frame, a hammer connected to the frame and movable between a cocked position and a striking position, the hammer being biased toward the striking position, a trigger element connected to the frame and movable by a user between a forward position and a rearward position, a selector connected to the frame and movable between at least a first position and a second position, a plurality of retention facilities each operable to selectively restrain the hammer in the cocked position, and when the selector is in the first position to enable discharge of the firearm in response to movement of the trigger to the rearward position, and when the selector is in the second position to enable discharge of the firearm in response to movement of the trigger to the forward position after movement to the rearward position.
